Books that will make me weep?

Help me be sad. Recommend to me depressing, sad, mournful fiction. Books that made you sad and a tad tearful. I just want to access these emotions and be taken away in good writing and wonderful characters. Any genre is acceptable except YA (unless you can prove it is real exceptional YA I suppose). Less cliched angst situations as well.

How do I get feel good about going to sleep?

Whenever I finally turn out the lights and get in bed, I immediately get a bit upset and sad over the things I could be doing. Perhaps not quite sad, but this feeling of emptiness. Do you believe in life after (first) love?

My first boyfriend/first love and I recently broke up after nearly four years together. I know this was the right decision, but I feel like I'll never feel this way about anyone else ever again. I realize that sounds dramatic, silly, and naive, but I'd really like to hear from the perspective of someone who's been through it that, yes, life does go on (and maybe get better, in a different way) after a first love. Managing possible Seasonal Affective Disorder? It feels really hard to connect to people.

I have been feeling really blah, negative and outrageously disconnected from the people I love lately. I'm pretty sure I have Seasonal Affective Disorder because something like this happens every winter. How do I stop feeling so blah, stop feeling so disconnected and lonely when everyone is right there? How about a light box? Those are expensive though, is there any way I can make one or buy a light bulb that mimics natural light and put it in my room? [more inside]

Waaaa! I Wanna Wallow Just a Little Bit Longer!!

After this, I thought what if I wanna hear sad music that can either let a person wallow in their misery or cry cathartically? Imagine a Bridget Jones type of situation: tubs of ice cream, bottles of wine singing "All by Myself." Depress me, please. Sad Sinead O'Connor, this is what I'm thinking.

S.A.D. yet easily tuckered out by a day of sunshine.

Effected by S.A.D in the winter, yet when I remain in the sun for a good portion of the day during summer I feel exhausted. I'll take a nap from 5 to 10, eat, then go back to sleep just fine and wake up in the morning. It's ludicrous, the sun wears me out almost as bad as the lack of it. [more inside]

What movies would I like?

MovieFilter: I recently watched and enjoyed the film All the Real Girls. Specifically, I seem to enjoy movies that are: slow, subtle, somewhat funny, southern, romantic and a bit long. Any suggestions for more things to fit this bill, or does this one movie meet all of my needs in a way that no other can? Hopefully helpful side note: I saw Up In The Air tonight, and also enjoyed it, mainly for the same sense of calm and subtlety I liked in ATRG.
