I have a set of rare rubber-grip Stratocaster knobs taken from a 30-year-old guitar. They look very similar to
these. Problem is, the rubber grips have stretched out and are no longer tight around the knob. Is there any way to make rubber contract or shrink slightly so the grips fit correctly?

Apparently, we've done a few things you aren't suppose to do to our fairly newly finished (last year) wood floors including using a jute rug with a rubber rug pad under it. Last week I noticed the tassels on the rug were scratching the finish so I took up the rug and pad. In addition to the finish being scratched, it looks like the pad left some sort of residue on the floor. How do I get the nice finish back on our floor (the finish is a standard 3 coat poly finish)?

Can anyone tell me where to research/find bulk viscoelastic rubber, or molded rubber that has viscoelastic properties? I'm looking for a material that when stretched, takes its sweet time in returning to its original size/shape. Turns out there are no rubber stores in my area to browse, thus no experts to turn to. Most info I've found online is scientific discussions about rubber properties.

Stinky balls. No, not that sort. I purchased a wine decanter that comes with a stand for drying. Unfortunately, the stand has a rubber ball on the end (to prevent scratching, I'd assume), and has a very, very pungent rubber odour. Is there some way of getting rid of that smell?

Hi friends. I have a terribly ratty jacket, called the Quiksilver Rubbermaid. It's about four years old, falling apart, made of rubber but looks (from enough of a distance, I guess) like leather. I would love to replace it with an identical jacket. I can't find it anywhere, these days. Now, I understand that Rubbermaid sent a cease&desist so they changed the name, but I can't find mention of the new name anywhere either.
Here's a page with a bit of information on it. Any ideas? (Sites with out-of-stock listings not needed.)
