Devices share bandwidth on a network. WiFi networks compete for bandwidth with each other. Is it better from a user/performance perspective to have multiple networks and spread the devices out among them, or a single network with all devices using it? [more inside]

Okay, we just bought a new wireless router. Our two smartphones are wifi connected. So are two different computers plus two Nooks.
The only thing that refuses to connect is our Roku box. The ONLY thing we use to watch TV. This is Not Good.
Roku support was worse than useless.

My FiOS speed is a blazing 75Mb/s thru a wire but only about 30-35Mb/s wireless. Verizon tells me that this is all I can expect through their Actiontec modem/router
. Can I improve this WiFi speed by bridging my Cisco EA4500
thru the FiOS router? If so, can anyone provide me with a step-by-step way to re-configure the FiOS router to allow for the bridge? All of the resources I can find on-line are confusing and don't cover my specific situation.
All help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I'm trying to switch my laptop from a DSL to a wireless connection. I was told this
would function as the modem/router I needed, and so ordered it. Today it came and although it works perfectly as a modem it doesn't seem to have wireless router capabilities. Please tell me whether it does, and if so how to set up a wireless connection, and if it doesn't, tell me what I should buy or do instead after I return it.

Like many people, I've got wireless router issues (Netgear MR814v2 -- yeah, it's getting old). I'm troubleshooting them as I can and haven't found anything that should be interfering, and all my firmware is up to date. Putting that to one side, I'm pretty tired of running down and up the stairs to unplug the router and plug it back in again (six to 10 times a day). My diagnostics show I've got connectivity between the computer and the router even when I can't connect to the Internet. Is there some way to reboot the router from my computer?

Why is my wireless router WZR-HP-G300NH not mounting my USB External HD?
I'm trying to access my Western Digital My Passport SE external hard drive through the wifi connection on the router. I have it plugged into the USB port on the router and it is powering on, but not mounting.
What have I done wrong?
How can I get this to work?
Does anyone know how to go about accessing the hard drive files once it is mounting properly?
I'll be using my MacBook to access the files and would like to stream my movies wirelessly from the external HD. [more inside]

I have a Linksys WCG200 cable modem/wireless router combo device. It sucks at wireless (and extensive Googling has indicated that's unfixable), but it's OK at everything else. Can I pick up a $30 wireless router, plug that into the device I have now, and use that without any loss of quality? Would I need any other devices? Would it just be easier to get a new stand-alone cable modem as well?
