My partner is a huge, huge theater buff, particularly musicals, and he is going away to work for the next three months directing shows at a performing arts camp. Last summer, before he left, he hid little love notes for me to discover in the apartment, and it was just the sweetest gesture ever. I want to return the favor to him this year, and sneak my own notes into his luggage before he leaves and in his cabin when I visit. I decided that it would be perfect to use romantic quotes from show tunes - but I really don't know anything about theater other than what I've picked up from osmosis. I could google for Broadway quotes, but they wouldn't have any significance to me. So I'm hoping that if I give some ideas of what he likes and dislikes, the hivemind could make some thoughtful suggestions.

I'm somewhat new to Korea and don't know much about the landscape of Seoul, but I'm taking a native Seoulite out to dinner on Tuesday night. What's a good date place in Seoul for a quiet dinner? The cuisine can be from any corner of the world, though I'd prefer if it were in the Hongdae or Sinchon corners of Seoul. That said, anything interesting would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm looking for the name of a (late-'80s?) romantic comedy based on my memory of a particular scene. The lead male (either Billy Crystal or a Billy Crystal-type) attempts to give advice to the lead female. She says that she wants to leave town and go somewhere, and he says, "So go." She counters with the reasons she has to stay; he deadpans, "So don't go." This goes back and forth two or three times.

For work reasons, I'm spending this week far from home, which means I'm going to miss my girlfriend's birthday tomorrow. Boo! We're going to make up for it when I get home, but I still want to mark the occasion by having something delivered to her at work. The obvious choice is flowers, of course. But can you suggest something else romantic and sweet that would be less obvious? Something I can arrange remotely and have delivered to an office in Herndon, Va. tomorrow?

The standard format for a romantic comedy has both key characters introduced very early in the script/movie -- say, in the first ten pages/minutes. I'm looking for examples of romantic comedies where one of the romantic leads is introduced later in the movie.

Cheap wine county hotels/motels/ B&B's? I am planning a romantic getaway in August. We want to check out an area 1-2 hours away from San Francisco, and preferably in Napa or Sonoma. But, if you know of other romantic weekend getaways, we are open to exploring! We have been to hot springs that were also amazing. We are on a budget, but sifting through Kayak and hotels.com is a chore and not always accurate, so we would love your recommendations. Thanks so much!

When my girl returns from a 6 week trip, I want to do something cool and quirky and romantic for her as a surprise. Nothing necessarily big and tacky or public and embarrassing.
Any ideas?
She doesn't like "objects" too much -- she's more of a road trip, beach night, indie-mix-cd kind of girl. We write a lot, so I don't want to do anything like that. I made her a CD for the flight there, so not that either. It could be a gift, or an experience.
We do not live together. It doesn't have to be something immediately when she comes back. I just wanted to do something sweet that was a little more out of the ordinary for us.

What part of Maui should we go to for a relaxed, romantic honeymoon?
After a fair bit of research, we're thinking of renting a condo, probably on the West side, although even that's not firm. The question is which part of Maui?
This thread has us leaning toward Napili or Kihei but since we've never been there before it all feels a bit like a shot in the dark, especially since condo rental sites like VRBO are so huge and confusing.

I'd like to date my best friend. We've known each other for four or five years, and hang out once or twice every couple of weeks. We're very close, and talk a lot on the phone or online. We both find each other attractive.
So my question is, how do I best segue from this platonic relationship into a romantic one? If it goes badly, say if he tells me I've totally misinterpreted the tenor of our relationship, what can I do to patch things over? And - does anyone have any success stories? Thanks so much.

I figured this crowd would have the answer bookmarked somewhere. There is a specific issue of a web comic that has the story of a guy, who after his first date with a girl, sends her an encrypted note for her to decrypt. They continue to date and despite her asking, he never gives her any decrypting hints. When she finally breaks the code, it's him asking her to marry him.
I thought it was an XKCD comic, but I couldn't find it via Google searches, so perhaps it's another site. My last resort is to go thru each XKCD comic one by one, but if you know what I'm talking about please give me a heads up.
Thanks.

I am looking to visit Cape May, NJ, with my longtime girlfriend. I am going to be proposing to her and I want to know if it is advisable to plan a visit during March (The only time that works for us). We're not necessarily looking to go swimming, but I'd like to be sure that there are still nice, romantic things we can see and do. Any advice about the weather and the sights in the area would be appreciated. I'm also open to suggestions about alternate destinations in the Philadelphia area. Thanks!
