I am looking for the name of the artist who created the “over capacity whale” and “technically wrong robot” illustrations for Twitter. Any information or pointers would be amazingly helpful.

My robot-that-can-draw-stuff idea has been patented and designed and prototyped to death hundreds of times, but never (to my knowledge) developed into a full scale product. Has anyone built something I can buy? Even a kit? [more inside]

Could you crib me some notes for my work-related robots vs. zombie debate later today? Why would robots defeat zombies in a knock-out, drag-out apocalypse? What are some humorous things to say about robots beating up zombies? Also: What are some questions for the moderator to ask that would lead to funny results? [more inside]

I am looking for any examples of the use of "robot voice". For example, early 80's electro, the famous Robby the Robot, or "robot voice" used for artistic purposes such as this. Any and all suggestions welcome. utubes, songs, movies, anything.

Robotics question: simple and high-payoff project, don't have the time/leet skillz/rationale to jump in the deep end of the pool (i.e. academic smartypantses building attack vehicles), don't want to spend the money on/deal with the physical bulk of the shallow end (Mindstorms et al). What is in the middle? [more inside]

I am trying to find the title and author of a short science fiction story. The story centered around Moses returning from Mt. Sinai and finding the Israelites worshiping the golden calf. In the biblical version he breaks the tablets and later goes back to get another set. In this story, the Israelites realize the error of their ways and gather all the pieces. On the topic of songs with robots and warped vocals, I seem to remember a video of Bender from Futurama to the tune of "Dirty Robot" by Arling & Cameron (from their "We Are A&C" album). Did I just dream this or did it really exist? If so, where? Bonus points for providing a link to media.

where is this robot from? It's driving me crazy! Me and a friend saw a guy with a tattoo of this robot on his back at this music festival and we both recognized it. Then I randomly saw that picture on some website. It can't be hitchhikers guide...i think the "don't panic" is just cause it's a home made shirt. Am I wrong? Make me look stupid though, I know you know where this robot came from!

Where archive.org fails: I'd like to research the development of news websites - specifically those established by traditional media companies (CNN, The New York Times, etc). While archive.org is a valuable resource, many of the sites I'd like to look at block the automated scripts (robots) that make archiving possible. What's more, some of the sites archived are woefully incomplete and are missing images, etc. Is there an alternative to archive.org or another resource that I might use?

My little boy wants to be a robot for Halloween, and I'd like to include a 60's style bank of randomly blinking lights on his robot chest. Cardboard and spraypaint I know and can work with; electronics, not so much. Is there a fairly easy and cheap way to do such a thing? [+]

In 1985 or so, there was an educational game for the Macintosh that I exactly once. It featured a robot on skates with an iconic programming language that you use to help make it travel safely through little virtual worlds. What was it called?
