Are there any fun, weird, or tasty roadside attractions on the drive from Rochester, NY to Grand Rapids, MI? We're going through Canada (Hamilton, London, etc.) then crossing back into the US at Sarnia (?) and going through Flint and Lansing.
Relevant info:
- we've got 12 and 9 year old boys
- we're mainly trying to just get to our destination in one day, but would love some fun stops
- traveling in early April, so warm weather is not expected

My husband and I have just returned from a great trip to West Texas; both back to work tomorrow. In order to keep our sanity, need to start planning the next road trip. Any suggestions? Probably no more than 10-12 days during the summer and we are willing to fly to a start off point. We like to linger. Preferably in the US or Canada.

My girlfriend and I are taking a (return) cross-Canada road trip in April, and I'm getting pretty excited about it. We want to keep overall costs as low as possible, and I think purchasing a cheap Van is probably going to fit the bill. Any suggestions on makes/models?

I'll be driving across a rather large portion of Canada with my girlfriend in a little over two weeks: Vancouver Island to the southern portion of Ontario, a trip that covers roughly 4200km and should take the better portion of four or five days depending on how frequently we stop. My question for you, oh great teeming mass of Metafilterians, is what we should bring for the trip?
