I'm an adult with ADHD. I need to have my meds with me in the daytime and early evening at work/school, etc. How do I do this conveniently, securely, and legally? I can't figure out how to do all three. Snowflaky details inside.

I have recently been diagnosed with ADHD, at 22, and prescribed Ritalin. I am unsure to which extent it's supposed to be helping me, but I do notice subtle differences in my day to day life, like my place suddenly not getting messy anymore. While I notice I managed to get more done (school work) since starting it, I still have a hard time sitting down and just going ahead with projects. I study graphic design, so things are usually quite mental, and need time to develop, but I am wondering if it's really helping? Occasionally it feels like it's slowing me down too much. Should I suggest my psychiatrist to try another drug? (Adderall is not an option, I am curious about dexedrine)

37 y.o. with ADHD here, diagnosed a few years ago. Ritalin works a bit, but gives me headaches. Dexadrine doesn't seem to do a whole lot except make sleep impossible (hence the 6am post). My psychiatrist says that if I don't tolerate those, I won't tolerate the others, either. Are there any non-prescription supplements or medications that might help and have some kind of hard evidence to support their efficacy?

I was recently officially diagnosed with ADHD by a great psychiatrist who spent a lot of time with me and seemed very serious about helping me. He ended up prescribing me Ritalin. This was very surprising, and I felt like I was transported back to the early 90s (which was the last time I heard the word actually spoken aloud). What are the possible benefits of Ritalin over Adderall, which may have led him to choose this?

I've been diagnosed as ADD/ADHD by 3 separate professionals through my life and on medication to treat it for nearly a year. The meds don't work, and I've been on a lot of them (i.e. Ritalin, Vyvanse, Strattera and now Adderall.) How can I give myself a swift kick in the butt to become a productive, organized individual?

After twenty-something years without an ADHD diagnosis, I started taking Adderall XR about a year ago and it completely turned everything around with zero side effects. Now I live in a country where I can't get it (drug laws). The only medication available is Ritalin, but Ritalin makes me feel like crap and I doubt I could take it long-term.
So then, how does one deal with adult ADHD without drugs, especially if they've already had such spectacular success with them? I know YANMD, but even if I could find a decent English-speaking psychiatrist here I get the feeling ADHD isn't something that's taken very seriously outside the West.

I currently live in Brazil but shall be returning to my country of origin, the UK, for a month or so in December. I recently managed to get a prescription for Ritalin from a psychiatrist here in Brazil and was wondering whether I'd have any complications in bringing this back into the UK.

I'm a typical ADD adult, and I don't have health insurance until at least September. I'm down to my last few Ritalin tablets, and I need a new Rx. How much does Ritalin (or Concerta, Adderall, etc) typically cost without insurance, and can I minimize these costs without having to sign up for an interim insurance plan? What are the best generic varieties of the big name psychostimulants? Will getting an Rx while uninsured just kick up my fees when I am finally covered by a health plan because my condition is pre-existing?

I've got a friend with an adopted son. The kid has some adjustment problems from his early treatment and adjustment here. She's looking at using meds to change his behavior. I think that's not a great idea and she should look to enrolling him in martial arts classes. They are in San Diego. Can anyone recommend a program in that area?
