My girlfriend and I have silver wedding rings. Unfortunately, they apparently contain nickel, which we are having a bad reaction to. We love these rings and want to keep them. But we can’t wear them now. Do you know of a protective coating we could apply to the rings, or anything else we could do to wear the rings in comfort?

After going to a few brick and mortar shops in NYC, we have a bit of sticker shock over how much a simple men's wedding band can cost. We're looking for a 4mm 14k yellow gold half round band size 10. We're hoping to spend under $300. Does anyone know any brick and mortar stores in NYC where we could could find a ring for under this price? Reputable website recommendations are also welcome, but we would prefer to see the ring in person before buying it, if possible. [more inside]

I'm intrigued by the magnetic implants some people get implanted into their fingers (most recently, I saw this thing on Reddit
). I think it would be amazing to add an extra sense, but my body rejects almost all piercings so I don't think the actual implants would go well. Would magnetic rings, consistently worn, achieve a similar effect? Even if it's not as strong, I'd be interested in trying it. If you have thoughts about how this would work, how to make it work, and where to get rings if this will work, please let me know.

I need help finding a ruby ring in a non-traditional but still engagement-ish setting. Ideally, the metal needs to be white-gold, unless you guys can recommend something sturdier/hypoallergenic that also has that silver-y color.
This previous AskMe
has been a great resource, only replace "sapphire" with "ruby." Even the budget is about right (but we can stretch it a bit higher if need be).
I'm totally fine with lab-created stones, but not okay with diamonds, because of ethical reasons. Help me out, please?

I've been googling and googling different ways to make rings, but I can't find precisely what I'm looking for. I have an image that I'd like to use to make a ring with a simple band. I want to know how to treat/preserve/protect the image so I can wear it frequently and also how to turn it into a ring. A plain wire-type band is fine with me. Adjustable size is ideal, but a fixed one would work too. Does anybody either know how to do this or know of a resource that would be helpful? I think this is enough information, but feel free to ask if you have other questions. Thank you!

Any suggestions for jewelery stores in the NYC area that have unusual wedding bands? The Clay Pot in Brooklyn is a perfect example of what we're looking for. Also maybe interested in vintage. Where should we go? Thanks!

I'm not sure if this is even possible, but: where could I buy a lady's Regency-period ring? Something like this
would be perfect. I keep coming across awful eBay sites that have 'Georgian-style' attached to something that could have been made in China yesterday, for all I know. Something with a certificate of authenticity / valuation?

Jewelry filter: I have a wedding ring here
and it is peridot and diamond stones. I recently went hiking and a lot of dirt got stuck behind the stones. I have tried washing it and scrubbing it with a soft toothbrush, but some of it is not coming out. There are tiny holes in the backside of the gems that the dirt got into. Any ideas for cleaning? Would a jeweler be able to clean it?

Recently started weaving chainmail in a search for a quiet crafty activity to do at my desk during downtime at work. Sunk ~$100 into getting a good mix of starting materials (anodized aluminum, brass, and a steel "coif kit" for when I get the hang of it.) Have so far learned basic 4-in-1 weave and made a bracelet and some earrings for my wife. (The latter turned out, the former is so-so.) What are some good resources for patterns, advice, other info?
