Eastern-language experts: what does this ring
say? I don't know the language or even if I've got it right-side-up. I photographed the characters in order, picking one at random to start with. If it's written in Fake Words For Honkies and doesn't actually mean anything, that's fine; if it will summon a Nazgul, that's even better!

I was watching a movie a few weeks ago and saw a ring
that I need to have. My normally masterful googling skills have failed me. It doesn't have to be exactly the ring pictured (for example, the circle could be smaller, it could be gold-tone, the circle itself could instead be square or rectangular or octagonal) but I want that thing strapped to my finger ASAP.
I've searched etsy and this
is the closest I've found but the leather bit is too wide for my liking. I have contacted a couple sellers on etsy whose stores include leather-based accessories and inquired about commissioning my dream ring but I have received no replies as yet.
It's times like these that make me real sad that etsy alchemy doesn't exist anymore.

I am about to be engaged. We have briefly discussed the ‘engagement ring’. I do not want to come across as shallow, but I would LOVE to have an engagement ring. He doesn’t make a lot of money, so we are considering a fake diamond. Does anyone have any experience as to the best simulant out there? [more inside]

Losing weight (over 225 to under 210) and I'd like to lose more. I already feel my wedding ring is loose. I don't want to lose it. I don't want to get it adjusted at a jeweler.
1. I don't really trust our local jeweler.
2. Looking more for a reversible option.
The ideal answer would involve something like, "here's where you buy this great gadget that fits over your ring and it comes in various sizes.
Thanks for your time.

Hit me with your best ideas for crafty ways of making my own custom seal signet rings. They cost above $300/each online, and more for a custom seal.
I have access to a laser cutter, and am pretty crafty, but though I'm trained I don't currently have access to a jewelry studio. Any suggestions? [more inside]

I need a hardware device that endows my cell phone with a loud ring/alarm. I have bought and had to return 3 phones because they just aren't loud enough to reliably hear when they ring if they are buried under clothes, are in the other room, I am standing near traffic etc. No idea how phone designs got to this stage but there it is. I'm about to get married and can already anticipate times in which I will not want the ring on my hand (like when I'm whitewater kayaking, for fear of losing it), but I'll still want it with me. I'm thinking maybe I'll get a simple, sturdy necklace and a little clip
of some kind. Any suggestions for said necklace and/or clip? Also will the stainless clip damage 18k gold?

Jewelry filter: I have a wedding ring here
and it is peridot and diamond stones. I recently went hiking and a lot of dirt got stuck behind the stones. I have tried washing it and scrubbing it with a soft toothbrush, but some of it is not coming out. There are tiny holes in the backside of the gems that the dirt got into. Any ideas for cleaning? Would a jeweler be able to clean it?

This ring turned up at my deceased grandmother's house and no one recognized it. General consensus was that it looked like a man's ring from the 1970s. The band/base appears to be gold and the design appears to be rose gold. Can anyone recognize the design or shed any light on this?
