How is my business plan wrong?

What is the likelihood of my product selling such that I make $1000 a month? What money I've put into it isn't an issue as it was sort of extra money that I wanted to put to something like this anyway. Everything I do to figure out how much I'll make seems to imply that I'll be rich (for a student) and I don't believe that's true, but I can't figure out what I'm missing. This is my first post on AskMefi, and for that I'm sorry. I was hoping my introduction would be through a post about healing all the pain in the world, but realistically I don't suppose any post would be good enough. Also, I'm real sorry this is long. I've been reading askmefi for a long time, but I wouldn't be surprised if I messed this up. Just correct me if I do.

This is the very basic version of what's going on. I am in the process of making a product. The product is a how to guide regarding studying in the context of other things, ie, memory techniques, note taking techniques, keeping a healthy mind, etc. I'm not linking to it or advertising it because it's really not necessary and there's nothing to link to yet. And this product is pretty good I think. It's not amazing, but I call it good in relation to other things I've seen and things I've done in the past.

I am also having a page made by a professional. Not just a white page with text that RANDOMLY GETS BIGGER AND BOLD.

I plan on having about 50 adwords keywords, ten for each topic of the course (speed reading, note taking, memory, mind health, and stress management). There will be five individual ads, one for each topic.

The other courses on memory and stuff I see online are 200-300 dollars usually. Mine has about that much information I think (It's 5 audio files, a booklet, worksheets, and a quickstart guide) and I'm not too ambitious (I'm a student, so even a little money helps a lot) so I'm selling mine for just short of 100. In the 90s somewhere. If it fails, I'll go a little bit further down.

The catch is that some people will recognize this formula as the Four Hour WorkWeek formula. And it is except I'm not using a physical product. I followed most of his advice, and while I totally understand and to a degree agree with the people who criticize how jerkish he seems, I'm trying to follow the book so that if it fails, I can criticize it instead of myself.

My reason for not mentioning it as part of the question itself is that I read the last Four Hour WorkWeek thread which seemed to address Tim Ferriss as a person, and the title of the book as unrealistic. No one seemed to actually consider his plan.

There's $50 a day on advertising. Assuming I sell this product at $99.99 (For rounding's sake) how likely am I to make $1000 a month?

The reason I ask is that I keep running the numbers and they are way way too optimistic. Tim Ferriss suggests assuming 1% of people searching for your term will click it, and 1% of them will buy the product. That comes out to 1/10000 people searching for the term buying it, and if that goes right then I'll be selling somewhere around 20 a month. I can't believe it's going to work like that. What am I missing?

Rich black is sending me to the funny farm.

I have been having a pervasive printing error that I, as a professional should know how to avoid/solve but I can't seem to stop cutout images from printing richer than the surrounding color. Let me explain... OK, so say you have a hat photographed on black velvet in a way that it is pretty much black as black can be. You want to make a flyer where the entire thing is black. So you take it into Indesign and make a black square, then place the hat graphic (.psd) on top of it.

When it prints, however, you break out into tears. The borders of image is evident because it printed in rich black and the black square is just plain ol' black ink. You take it back into photoshop and erase the black background so now you just have a hat. But, lo and behold, the damn thing still prints rich black where the borders of the image are.

You decide to go with the hat on a yellow background. The yellow under the image prints out a slightly different shade of yellow.

So, am I supposed to make a clipping path around every single item I place on a colored background? Some of these images I use are of historic fur artifacts that wouldn't take well to a clipping path to eliminate rich black.

More details:

1. I am printing on an HP Laserjet 5550dtn PS
2. I am outputting all blacks as rich black. Doesn't seem to be working
3. The blacks are registration
4. I have run a test page with the same image as a CMYK with black background, CMYK without, RGB without, greyscale without, and a CMYK with clipping path. The only one without a rich black square around it was the clipped one.
5. There are no text effects
6. I read This post but it did not help me.

I think my options are:
1. reinstall print drivers. Maybe it was set up wrong.
2. Do something obvious in InDesign or Photoshop that my idiot brain can't figure out
3. switch careers
4. kill myself
5. switch careers, then kill myself
6. win the lottery

Strange things happen to me regularly, and the last one left me with about $3000. I'm only 21, have no consumer debt and don't need to use any of it. I want to put it away, but I have no idea how. I know there have been a thousand threads about investing, but being a liberal arts major I'm a little overwhelmed by it all. I've always wanted to learn how to invest intelligently but I've never had any capital to start out with, so this seems like a good time to start.

I don't want to put this all in a retirement fund I can't touch until I'm fifty, because I'm young and reckless and that does me about as much good as lighting it on fire. I'm looking for short-term (5-10 year) returns. Where should I start?

ObviousFilter: What current hip-hop song has a chorus that goes "I'm rich, can't help the money I spend, (something something) car I'm driving..."? I thought this was a popular enough song, as I've heard it on the radio a half dozen times in the past two weeks. However, googling "I'm rich"+"can't help the money I spend"+lyrics returns only one hit, and it's somebody else asking what song it is! I've looked up the top ten hip-hop singles on Billboard.com and listened to clips from ALL of iTunes top 100 downloaded hip-hop/rap songs, and I've got nothing. Please PLEASE help me get this song out of my head!

What's the life expectancy difference in North America between rich and poor? I've looked for, but not found, a graph of the life expectancy in N.A. (or just the U.S.) for income brackets...from those below the 'poverty line' to the richest citizens.
early plastics and the rich

When plastic was first discovered/invented, was there a time when it had luxury cachet? More specifically, was there a time when the very rich (and hip) would have used plastic plates? When CDs or cell-phones were first invented, the early adopters were techies and the very wealthy, who were happy to pay a premium to show how modern, with-it and rich they were. Was the same ever true of something like plastic plates (or pantyhose, say)? I imagine that they were always meant as mass items, cheapo peoples' stuff, but that's a rather arbitrary assessment, based on their current role in society. Anyone have any insights? My google-fu's not helping.

What if it CAN buy happiness?

What do rich people have that we don't? To be more specific, what are the little inconveniences that the middle class/lower class/middle-rich/foo/bar have to deal with, but when you have enough money you can get around easily. I don't mean the obvious ones, I mean things like showers that you have to fiddle with to get the temperature, or razor burn. Also, how can you emulate this sort of thing on the beer budget that I must live with?

Printing your own money to save a poor country

With alot of poor countries around the world getting into more and more dept I was wonder why don't they just print more money as they own their country... ...

Lets say 'Ethiopia' was our expample, where people are dieing day in day out due to starvation.

If I owned that country I would print more money (as I would own it) to pay workers to make the country better. i.e. new roads, transport, etc. Paying your own people with your own countries printed money wouldn't be fraud. So poor people would eventually have a job that would make their country better, and in return they get money to feed their family.

I was talking to a few people about this and one of they said that they cant do it becuase of the world bank.

world bank??? who owns that, or are they guessing?

Plus who does actually own a country? George Bush doesnt own America. Would the countries representative have the power to print more money out if they needed to?

I know in England, the queen has rights at the Royal Mint, but what rights?

Before you lot say about trading with other countries, if a country wants more for a product, just print more. If the conversion on currency is poor, just print more money.

I could be wrong about the whole situation, its been on my mind for years as I can't understand why the poor countries are suffering.

The rich life...

Is it really that hard to be happy and rich? All of my life I've always heard "rich people are often miserable", "it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God", and on and on. I'll probably never find out, but I only half believe these, and think I could easily be the exception to such statements. I'm not saying I think money would make me happy (I do buy "you can't take it with you"), but I tend to think I could be happy and rich at the same time. I know it depends on the person and how he/she defines happiness, but are these just sayings people spout without really thinking about to make the poor feel better/keep the peace, or are they true more often than naught?
or, um, give me $100,000, and I'll tell you the answer.

How to get rich quick

How do I get rich quick? Legal methods are best. Illegal methods are fine as long as there's a decent chance of getting away with it. For the purposes of this question, lets define "rich" as at least one million US dollars, and "quick" as within one year.

How Rich is "Rich"?

What's the defenition of "rich"? During the convention i've heard "rich" equated with household incomes of $100K or more. That seems like an incredibly low number to me -- is it 'cause I live in New York? Is it defined as some top percentage of the population, and it happens to be that $100K is where that percentage starts?

Don't get me wrong, I understand that it's a lot of money, but I wouldn't think a family of four with a mortage and college tuitions feels "rich". "Well off", maybe, but "rich" implies butlers and helicopters, doesn't it?
