I have approximately 10,000 sheets of 8.5" x 11" paper in a box under my desk. They have printing on one side already, are standard computer paper weights, and are various colors. What are some creative ways I can use them or places to which I could donate them in the Twin Cities (Minnesota)?

I buy bottles of strauss organic whipping cream, it comes it little glass bottles and looks like this:
pic 1,
pic 2. As you can see, on the glass bottle there is a flat black imprint with some lettering and a logo. Is there any way to safely remove that imprint? I have something in mind I'd like to reuse my bottles for and I'd prefer them not to have that imprint. Thanks!

I enjoy soft pretzels, but over time I've acquired many, many little bags of pretzel salt that come in the package of pretzels. Yes, maybe I should throw them away. But first - what can I do with them?

Creative uses for cold packs? I have a lot of them... I have to take a medication that arrives via a mail-order pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging that includes a cardboard box, a foam cube and a bunch of cold gel packs. The boxes and cubes can be recycled, but what should/can I do with the mountain of cold packs I'm collecting?

Super Concentrated Soup? So I made split pea and pesto with pork soup two nights ago and I made too much. It also sat on low for a bit too long and is now a thick green paste. What do I do with it? Is it still safe to eat? Can i do anything to it besides adding water and making more soup? How best can I use these leftovers?

I realized recently that I purchase a certain brand of tomato sauce because underneath the label lies a very attractive mason jar. Do you have products that you buy almost as much for the reusability of their packaging as the product itself? The Altoids tin would be another example.

Where can I find bags of various sizes that:
are spherical or ball-shaped when full of stuff
are made of durable outdoor-hardy material
and close with velcro or a drawstring or some other kid-safe closure mechanism
Bonus: Bags of other useful shapes like kid furniture, that can be filled and closed
You see, I want to make balls out of trash...

With some products, the off-brand is as good as any other brand, sometimes even coming off the same production lines in the same factories. With other products, there is a quality difference between brands. How about for replacement HEPA filters for a Kenmore air cleaner? (And, as a bonus, should I believe the warning against washing and reusing the charcoal pre-filters?)

My wife has come to the conclusion that it's more environmentally friendly to use a paint roller once (and then let it dry out and throw it away) as opposed to wasting upteen gallons of water cleaning all the paint out in order to reuse the roller. This seems crazy and a waste of money to me. What say you AskMetafilterians?
