Expand my thinking! Or, just give me a tiny bit of hope.

I am unemployed with no college degree, and an employment history in retail management/horticulture. I'm trying desperately to do something - anything - that will: 1) hire me and 2) pay me a living wage. I am depressed and defeated. Please help me think of things I haven't realized are possible, when I haven't even had a temp agency sign me up. [more inside]

What are the best ways to drive sales on the floor in high-end retail?

I recently was hired at a high-end luxury retail store where traffic is low, and it's a client cultivating environment. My previous experience in retail sales has been in higher-volume stores and I want to hear from people who work in this type of luxury-driven culture about what's worked and what doesn't to be successful.

Retail manager monkey wants out but needs money.

I am a high-level store manager for a retail chain which, in general, does good for the world. Time to get a new job pt. 2

I know exactly what I want out of work, and it is this: working on creative projects to make something useful (and also cool) as part of a team. And also money. Not tons, but enough to get by. I have a BA, but nearly all my work experience to date has been in low/no-skill labor. How do I bootstrap myself into a new career and what should I even be looking at? [more inside]

Is having a full-time job while attending college a good thing?

Hired in 2 years ago as part-time help, promoted to key-holder, and now offered to opportunity to go higher up. Is a job promotion and the increased pay that comes with it worth delaying the amount of time it takes to complete post-secondary education? Really making money and going to school, are they compatible/desirable? How would taking a salaried job affect financial aid available to me? [more inside]
