Are there any fun places to stop between Chicago and Louisville? We'll be making the drive on a Sunday. Restaurant ideas are also appreciated.

I have a 30th birthday coming up in NYC and I'm trying to think of some fun restaurants, places to go (i.e. bowling, paintball, karaoke), and or things to do.
I'd like for a group of us to be able to eat and do something (like bowl) at the same time then we'd all go out to a bar afterward.
Anyone have any fun restaurant or party place suggestions in NYC?
btw, not interested in bowling or karaoke suggestions

Give me your best mid range to upscale restaurant in Charlotte, either Uptown or accessible by the new Light rail.
Atmosphere (three late 20s professionals going, so not romantic), crowd, great, interesting food are the criteria. Probably looking something 'hip' and loud.

We'll be in Paris for 3 days around New Year's Eve, so I am looking for 3 restaurants reasonably priced (around 30 euros). Our hotel is in Le Marais. We enjoy no frills fresh produce simply cooked with flair.

I want to give a gift of the best dining experience in Pensacola (or within a 50 mile radius of Pensacola). Great food and great atmosphere.
Where do you suggest?

My friend and I are going to see Robyn Hitchcock at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago tomorrow night, and I'm looking for recommendations for restaurants near the venue (4544 N. Lincoln ave
). We're up for all sorts of food, nothing too cheap but nothing godawful expensive either. With those amazingly broad guidelines, does anyone have any favorite eateries in that area?

How can I remotely reward a friend in San Francisco with a nice night out? Are there gift certificates I could order for a restaurant and deliver them by email to my friend? I know there must be a system for this, but I can't seem to get the google search terms right. [more inside]

My wife and I are meeting my sister for dinner tomorrow in Myrtle Beach. She is coming from Texas, and I would like to find something that might be a bit unique for her. We would like to keep it at 20 or less for entrees. Sandwich places and seafood buffets are okay, too. Any suggestions?

I'm going to be in Vienna from September 26 (early morning) - 29 (afternoon). I'm 18 years old and will be traveling with friends. What should we do/ see?
I've been put in charge of figuring all this out, but apart from the obvious tourist things I don't know what's good. I guess I'm looking for more off-the-beaten-path stuff.
Thank you! [more inside]

Ever notice the fish tanks with koi carp near the entrance in many Chinese restaurants? A friend told me that they are actually there to indicate (perhaps through the number or type of fish?) whether the restaurant owner has paid up to the local Chinese mafia (triad). Is there any truth to this or is it just another urban legend?

The last time I went into Boston, I was horrified to discover that Ned Devine's in Faneuil Hall no longer served my favorite appetizer of all time: warmed and breaded goat cheese bites. Please help me find another restaurant in the Boston metropolitan area that serves a similar appetizer. [more inside]

I'm going to be organizing a pub night for my class from the grade school I went to at some point — probably in September or October. The best location for the pub is probably in the north end of Toronto, say on Steeles or Finch somewhere, and not too far east or west. Not being very familiar with that area, I'd like suggestions as to a good venue. I'd like a quiet and comfortable atmosphere, decent food, and definitely nothing dive-y or too bar-like.

My mother was reminiscing about food she enjoyed as a youngster/young adult and she mentioned a "burger chain that had a 'Scot Burger
'" that somehow involved some craziness that sounds a whole lot like coleslaw but made with Green Goddess dressing. She swears it is not Green Goddess dressing, per se, but could be similar. My google-fu has turned out the link above, but fails me as to the exact make up of the alleged "Scot burger". Please help!
