I'm interested in how other parents manage to share the workload and arrange rest times for themselves and their partners.

You've been seriously sleep-deprived over a period of multiple days, you expect more sleep-deprivation to come, and hurray! you finally have a serendipitous few hours to get some rest. Except that now, for some reason, you can't fall asleep. What to do about it (or instead of it)?

I'm tired of using other people's modules for interacting with websites' APIs. But I can't seem to quite wrap my head around using JSON with a website/cgi script I haven't designed. Are there any good tutorials that talk over how to build a JSON file to send to a RESTful API and then do what you want, preferably generalized so I'm not searching for a new one for each website?

There's nothing like a productive and clear-headed day after a good night's rest. But this happens far less often than I would like. Is there some sort of guide to getting good rest? Not tips for insomniacs, just something for normal healthy people to get better rest. Resthacks?

I have to put my mother into a care facility (and wow, they're expensive!). How do I thoroughly check out whether or not one will be good for her before allowing my mother anywhere near the place? I live about 2 hours away and plan to check it out but want to do as much legwork as I can beforehand. Thanks for the help.

I've heard of studies that having a day of rest in the week (like Sunday) actually increases productivity than had they worked all seven days. Does anybody know of any studies or statistics to support this claim?

I'm about to start a job where I will be expected to live on 5 hours (or less) sleep per night on weekdays. I'm looking for tips on staying alive physically. Types of food, drinks, shakes, vitamins, exercise tips, sleep hacks, etc. -- anything that will aid my body physically during this period of my life.

I want to travel to Sanibel or Captiva Islands - I am looking for accommodation, but I find it very hard to make a decision based exclusively on online research. I would welcome any advice on where to stay.
I am not very fond of big chain hotels like Holiday Inn's etc.... I much prefer small motels or self-catered cabins, but I am afraid to book a shabby place because online everything looks pristine..... so, ideally I would love to find a small motel or cabin by the sea, in a quiet part of town. Another thing to consider is that I am traveling with my parents and our baby, therefore I am looking for places that have a apt-like layout, with ideally the choice of one or two bedrooms and a kitchenette.
Any advice on this and other must-see, must-eat, must-do attractions would be greatly appreciated.

Web services - is there a server that supports both
REST and
SOAP protocols? I'd like to write the service code (in Java) once and then support both, as simply as possible. Simplicity is more important that features and throughput. Or should I just focus on one (which)? Thanks.

Sleep Apnea... some, ooh, let's say about 5% of the population has it. I'm starting to think I might, too: not feeling rested in the morning, snoring at night, breathing stops irregularly, etcetera. Anyone got personal experiences, stories, or advice to offer? I'm not running to the doctor yet... unless y'all scare me into it!
