Should I give this polyamorous relationship a chance or end it?

I'm in a polyamorous relationship of less than a year. It has increasingly been a struggle for me in terms of self-esteem, fear of loss, and anxiety. Lately I've been thinking it's more fair to end this relationship than continue. Is it worth attempting to take this journey in hopes that it will be ok or should I just end the relationship with the idea that, like marriage or wanting children, it's a incompatibility that's a deal breaker? More details below. [more inside]

Eating in Paris at Christmas

I'm spending the week from Christmas Eve to New Years Eve in Paris. I'm curious what to expect as far as things (restaurants, shops, etc.) being closed. Our general plan is to wander around and look at stuff and be in Paris. I don't mind losing a day to formal sightseeing on Christmas Day itself; in fact I'm kind of looking forward to the quiet. I'm a little worried about food, though, especially because we arrive (via train from Munich) at noon on Christmas Eve. [more inside]

Getting a passport while the getting's still good

I'm transgender. My only ID that doesn't match is my birth certificate. Therefore, I need a physician's statement to get a passport with the correct gender on it. The letter I travel with currently (to explain things to the TSA if necessary) is dated 2015. There is no guidance on the State Dept website or from the NCTE on this. Should I: a) get a new one from my current doctor, adding 2+ weeks to the whole process? b) use the one I have now? "Complete" means complete, right, or is that too logical for the government? Help me diagnose a CAT5e UTP cabling gremlin

I have two RJ45 outlets in one wall plate, labelled B-01 and B-02. And yet, a PC with a gigabit Ethernet connection still works via either, and the TDR cable fault tester in the local network switch returns identical results for both. What am I missing? I am one day and 6 hours into a 4 day, 1200 mile, 18 hour experience alone in the car with my 16 month old. We have listened to (and I have sung along to) the same Raffi album (singable songs for the very young) roughly 11 billion times. Please share some additional downloadable options for toddler friendly audio that will help keep dad sane. "This land is flat because of the war"

Long-shot identify this quote for me, please. "don't you understand? This land is flat because of the war" from a novel, this was an extract played on CBC radio about 15 years ago. The scene was two women driving through the part of France affected by World War I and it talked a lot about the effect of the war on the land. I don't remember anything else, but it's a good bet the author was Canadian.
