Have you ever regretted a breakup but resisted reconciliation?

My BF and I ended our six month relationship several weeks ago. Since then we've been in touch a few times and both expressed culpability, longing, and regret. We've had one conversation about giving it another chance that seemed to put a line under things, but since then we've had contact again, expressed the same feelings again, and we're on track to having the same conversation again. We're not moving on and we're not getting back together. How do I make this next conversation "stick?" More details inside. . . . [more inside]

Can you identify this book?

I have piles of books scattered all over the house, plus the Kindle, so tracking this down is possible, but it would be so awesome if anyone else could identify this story/book I read recently (recently: maybe within the last few months?). There are a man, and a woman, and I gather she is pretty self sufficient, because he says something of her like she's withdrawn into the room of her mind, and is sitting in there, knitting. This is driving me slowly nuts. Does it ring a bell? Thanks!

Is E-Mail legally considered mail?

My club's Constitution (written in 1934) requires that members be notified of proposed changes by mail. I would like to send a notification via email rather than postal mail and am looking for any legal precedent (preferably in New York State) showing that the legal definition of mail in this case would include e-mail. Where to look for slim-fitting men's knitting patterns

My mother-in-law is a prolific knitter, and I'd like to get her to knit me a pullover for winter. Trouble is, most home-made knitwear tends towards the baggy, which looks ridiculous on me - I wear a European size slim fit small for most tops. Is there anywhere online I can search for knitting patterns that won't look like a tent one me?

Trying to find the title of a movie!

This is for an older friend. She remembers a movie made in the fifties that was about a couple of American housewives going to Italy. Transferring files from PC to new iMac

Aging in literature and film

Help me find this St. Louis Art Museum Special Exhibition Piece.

OK, this is going to be tricky: A friend of mine saw an exhibit at the St. Louis Art Museum that she talks about all the time. There was a hands-on type of piece, probably on a piece of paper or cardstock, and you could flip it: One side said something akin to "I'm where I need to be" and the other side said something in the vein of "Anywhere but here." Mysterious mediterranean marine artifact

Haven't had any luck in identifying this object found, at about 5m depth, just off Ammouso beach on Lefkada - some sort of pithos, or something left over from a war? Photos: 1, 2, 3. In a brief, snorkeled dive down, though it looks rather thin, the surface did seem to the touch to possibly be terracotta, and the four regularly placed, circular handles remind me of a pottery feature. Any ideas?

Can you identify this peculiar genealogical thriller?

Some time in the mid-to-late '80s, I borrowed a book from my local public library (in the UK).
