Cuba and human rights.

Cuba and human rights. Please ignore this if you think Cuba is a 1. Glorious Worker's Paradise or 2. 3rd largest prison on Earth (after Myammar and N. Korea) I would like to know more about human rights for the average person in Cuba. For instance, if a regular person (NOT a government employee, journalist, or someone w/ connections) could afford it, could they just leave and go to India for 2 weeks on vacation? Buy a computer and get full access to the Web? Visit a relative in Miami? Open a bookstore and import what they want? Start a blog discussing human rights in Cuba? What actually happens if they try sailing a boat to Miami or Mexico?

Where to find party ambience (chatter, laughing etc.) sound recording?

I am looking for a sound recording of a party ambience where many people are chatting, laughing - the kind of sound where you would expect to hear in a party, maybe about 15 minutes long. I found a good example of what I am looking for here . Except this sound sample is too short for me, I am looking for something like this one at least 15 minutes long. So when it repeats it is not easy to detect that it is looping. [more inside]

Mysterious sign, perhaps no longer in production?

I can't for the life of me find a picture of a particular road sign, which I consistently misunderstood as a child. It's a traffic sign in North America that I saw many times as a kid but almost never any more. It was a yellow-orange sign with a "no" symbol and some random-looking detritus behind it, which I later understood to be a crumpled can. Probably a "no littering" sign, but a search on that or like terms seems to turn up nothing! A pretty silly question, I know! I ask partly because when I was a kid, I thought the item behind the "no" sign was a mouser from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

How do I sort my fastmail view out before I go insane? users please help. Somehow I have made my inbox so that it doesn't show the folder list and the email messages side by side. It shows the email and a tiny bit of folder at the left. If I slide the cursor to the left (not using scroll bars) then the folder list appears. Slide to the right, the folder list slinks off to the side. It does not do it on any other computer I use. I'm in firefox. And I feel stoopid and it's really annoying me - please get my screen back static for me! thank you! This is so stupid and I know I should be able to find out the answer, but I CAN'T! I don't have a login to the fastmail forum thing (thought it was my same login as my email, but apparently not) and can't work out a form of words to search for. Yes, I realise I'm stupid.

Can you use airport amnesty bins to erase certain crimes?

Where can I find the written laws that regulate amnesty bins at airports? (Amnesty bins are the bins right before the metal detectors in some airports where you can, according to signs, throw away anything that you can't take through security without penalty.) And, related, are these actually legally binding, or just a gentlemen's agreement? Could someone hypothetically put a stolen painting in the bin, and be free of legal consequence of having stolen it?

Where in North/Central London did I see a model of London?

Where in London, UK did I see a "model village"-style map of the city centre? There's a rat in the drain!

[Book/Story-filter] Trying to place a book or maybe short story from my youth (child of the late 70s-80s). The only thing I can remember is a guy going swimming at the Y. He thinks he sees a towel stuck in the drain at the bottom of the pool, but once he gets down there he realizes it is a rat coming out of the drain. It could be a really popular book for all I know. I just know that it scared the crap out of me and still freaks me out to this day a bit. Any ideas?
