Perfect savory/sweet recipe combos for an office meeting?

I've been bitten by the baking bug! I need help figuring out what combination of 2 different recipes (1 savory, 1 sweet) would be perfect for a morning office meeting of 5-6 people that will survive not being refridgerated. Also, simplicity is best since I've only just started to foray into baking. (More details inside.) [more inside]

How to go from a little girl with a guitar to a professional?

So wait, who owns my house now?

We recently paid off our mortgage (finally!) and got a Substitution of Trustee and Deed of Reconveyance. Some of the info on it looks confusing and/or wrong. We've called the county recorder's office and Wells Fargo, and the people there said everything is correct, but they didn't seem too sure of themselves it just looks wrong. Here's the part I'm confused about. [more inside]

When do the riders take bathroom breaks during the Tour de France?

Watching the coverage here in the States, I have yet to see mention of any riders taking a bathroom break during the long stages. I recall hearing that TdF rules allow riders to stop at the side of the road only in the countryside, but even so, I haven't seen any mention of this, like a quick comment or quip. (Please note my viewing has been limited to the Versus network and I haven't watched every stage.) Does television coverage in other countries make mention of this? Do the riders just hold it in?

Minor but annoying Firefox problem

I'm using Firefox 3.5 (on Leopard). Whenever I re-open FF, it remembers my tabs as it should, but there's a catch. All of them will "load" forever without actually doing anything unless I go to the location bar of each and hit enter. Hitting "Reload all tabs" doesn't work, instead it makes them all go blank. Also, until I switch to another tab and back, the URL of the first tab doesn't even appear. [more inside]

Can viruses damage hardware?

I recently met someone who told me he'd had to discard all the hard disks and memory chips from his computers due to their being infected by a virus. He'd had to discard graphics cards and even an expensive printer because its internal memory had become corrupted by the virus (rorschach, I think). I had never before heard of permanent damage to hardware from virus infection. Clue me in, please?

How can I update a textbox in a slide object in the middle of a loop in E-Prime?

Computer Coding: I'm trying to write an experiment in E-Prime that uses a Visual Analog Scale to allow subjects to bid on items. Basically, this means they move a slider with their mouse over a bar, and the position on the bar represents how much they are willing to bid. The thing is, they need to know what value the slider currently represents before they can actually bid, and I'm having problems getting the text to update with the cursor position. Now, if any of you out there are E-Prime gurus I could really use your help for this bit. I need to figure out how to update a textbox in a 'slide' object in the middle of a loop. [more inside]
