I Hate IE But . . .

What is wrong with Firefox? When I use it, I can't favorite in MetaFilter, look at Yahoo! inbox except in old Classic mode, see any of my gadgets on igoogle, or even tweet in Twitter. Why does every update make it more dysfunctional, and how do I fix these specific problems?

Something like concrete, but lighter.

Okay here's what I want to do. I have a plastic bin. I want to tilt it on a 45 degree angle, and fill the bottom corner with [insert substance here]. This substance would then dry, and I would repeat the process on the other side of my plastic bin. When both sides are dry, I would have a homemade sluiceway in the bottom of the bin that would be able to effectively funnel liquid out through a spout I would put in the bottom of the bin. That's what I want to do. I just don't know what would be a good substance to accomplish this. Ideally it would be light (concrete would be a pain), would adhere to the plastic bin, not absorb moisture and rot, and dry in a reasonable amount of time. I'm also open to suggestions that would approach this from a different approach.

Please complete this joke about psychiatrists

Please complete this joke: A guy goes a psychiatrist. He doesn't say anything during the entire hour. He comes back a week later. Neither one of them says anything. He comes back a third time. Silence right up to the end. Finally, he says . . . something. The psychiatrist responds. And that brings us to the punchline. Which is hilarious. . . I'm sure. [more inside]

Something missing below headlight on 1999 Toyota Avalon

I have a 1999 Toyota Avalon. I noticed the small plastic grille below my left headlight missing and there's a dangling plug inside. I can't figure out what used to be in there. The car still runs fine. Inside the passenger-side grille is a grey plastic box, probably connected to a similar plug.

Long term care insurance for younger people?

I am a mid-thirties, single woman in good health but few assets/savings right now. I have the opportunity to purchase a long term care insurance policy through work, which would provide unlimited coverage at the average nursing home care rates in my city, and adjusts for inflation. The premiums are about 2.5% of my take-home pay, and I can afford it while meeting all my other financial goals. Worth it or not?

Decent luxury / high-end rental condos / apartments in Central New Jersey?

I am working in Central Jersey now (near Princeton), and still living in NYC. Want to know if there any acceptable places for a single guy to live in this area. I checked out River Park at Raritan - it looks ok. Looked at Pike Run in Belle Mead, but I read a number of reviews and they were all pretty bad. Tenants were complaining about bedbugs and poor insulation. Are there any places, preferably on the luxury rental side, that are decent for a single professional to live in the area?

Advice on installing an air conditioner into a window sleeve that's too big?

In the apartment I'm moving into, each room has a wall sleeve (just below the window) for an air conditioner. We tried installing one of my air conditioners in there tonight, and it's too small to fit the space. It mostly fills it, but even with the fins on either side of the air conditioner pulled out, there are still spaces above and below. Does anyone have any advice on how to properly install the air conditioner? [more inside]
