A NYT article on Prop 8
begins, "A giant rainbow-colored flag in the gay-friendly Castro neighborhood of San Francisco was flying at half-staff on Wednesday..." Where can I find that image?

I'm planning to visit Sequoia National Park for a long romantic weekend with the girlfriend and was hoping someone here might be able to recommend a place or places to stay. Originally we wanted to stay at
Wuksachi Sequoia Lodge but we couldn't get reservations for the particular weekend. A fireplace would be a big plus!

I know you're not my doctor. I had a UTI diagnosed today -- neglected to mention that when I've wiped, the tissue has occasionally (read: 3 times today) come away a very, very pale pink. Pee is normal colored. Am I bleeding? Should I go to the ER? I took my first antibiotic a few hours ago, FWIW.

The orchestral piece right after Obama's acceptance speech while he was still on stage waving to the crowd, what was it? If it helps, I was watching CNN in case it was music they were playing and wasn't actually being played in the park.

Every once in a while, my desktop computer emits a sound like a tricycle bell - the kind on the handlebars that you work like your thumb.
It happens maybe once a day, maybe once every other day on an always-on Vista machine. I have been actually sitting at the machine when it happens and can detect not one single change.
Curiosity is making me a little crazy. How can I find out what's making the sound?

Cleaning feather/down - I have several feather or down filled things (pillows, cushions, ski jacket, etc.) that over years have have various liquids spilled *into* them. Liquids like juice, pet urine, beer, gasoline, sweat, etc. (not all on the same item!). My point is these are not surface dirt things - this is stuff that seeps through the cover and into the feathers.
I looking for a way to clean the feathers themselves. Is there a fluid that I can soak - say a cushion - in and it will clean the feathers inside? Or a vapor of some kind ? Or will just soapy water do the job if I can be sure to drying the insides properly? All and any advice please, especially on the pet urine soiled item - it'll have to go if I can't clean it 'deeply'. TIA

I inherited a Memorex Dual USB card reader without a Windows XP driver. It's theoretically available at Memorex's web site but the links throw errors and when I tried to contact support, it generated a MySQL error (surprise, surprise). All of the various drivers sites I could find simply link back to Memorex's faulty site. Does anyone have this driver? It's probably in a form like "Dualreader.exe" rather than a zip archive.

Eh, not really a strategy thread. Basically, what do you guys recommend to avoid the dreaded "brainfreeze", "panicking" or "choking" syndrome synonymous with mathematical tests, particularly calculus.
I did this a bit on the first test and had to fight down panic before I eventually got it, but I'd like to not repeat panicking for 20 mins and then getting myself together.
How do you do it? Do you use breathing techniques? Some wacky herbs? etc?

I have thousands of WMA files I want converted to MP3. Is there a freeware program or a good inexpensive program that will batch convert the files while preserving the original bitrate and ID3 in the final MP3 file and also creating a directory structure such as artist\album? I am writing a short paper on a connection between art and war. Anyone have any interesting topic suggestions/articles/websites?
I'd like to go beyond the obvious like Maus, and find other things to consider writing about, like
these cartoons written by a Japanese soldier.
My teacher has encouraged us to think about lost art in Iraq and Afghanistan, but is open to any reasonable topic from any era.
