My printer will only print infinite blank pages

I have a 4 year old Samsung ML-2510 printer that will no longer print. It takes in a sheet of paper about halfway, then stops for ~20 seconds then spits the page out a blank page. It will keep doing this until it runs out of paper. The red error light is slowly flashing. The problem appeared a couple of years ago, but I've always been able to get it to go away before. It worked fine the first time I used it this semester but stopped working the second time I used it. Since then I've only been able to get it to spit out one non-blank page, and that was involved in a paperjam. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get it working? I've tried Google and the Samsung site, but I get the same 4 questions answered over and over again. [more inside]

Help me put the period to this.

I have several lengthy documents I'm editing for a book. The author scanned his hard copy and ran the result through an OCR program. The OCR omitted most of the periods. Is there a way to make Microsoft Word 2000 or OpenOffice Writer 3 put the periods where they go, or am I doomed to putting them in as I edit?

Do you recognize this short story?

Prompted by the recent Harlan Ellison thread I was reminded of a short story which I think was his in which a depressed and suicidal man freaks out an armed carjacker by threatening to kill him in an accident and leaves him trembling on the median. How to help a person to see the better side(s) of life?

I have been with my girlfriend for what will be 4 months total as of October 4th. Still feels like the “honeymoon” period. Though, neither of us have had the best lives, so meeting each other was a blessing to say the least. Life changing in a lot of ways. Why do some people end sentences in "with"?

Why do people say, "Can I come with" and "Do you want to go with"? That "with" hanging on the end of that sentence has always driven me crazy. I heard it twice last night on television. Isn't there supposed to be a noun or pronoun following that preposition? Is ending a sentence this way a regional thing? If it's grammatically acceptable, then why does it sound so utterly awkward to my ear?
