What to do with a toddler in Paris?

I'm in Paris (4e arrondissement) with my husband and our clingy 20-month old baby. No car. We're going to a farmer's market tomorrow, and plan to do a walking-around-looking-at-street-art/graffiti tour but need further ideas. Bonus points for minimal crowds, fun run-around room for baby, but with the possibility of really good coffee for mom and dad.

Or do I just need to knead my knee?

I just got into road cycling this year. I bought a bike in February, and have been ramping up in miles and pace since then. I just did a metric century (actually ~67 miles) a few weeks ago, my longest ride yet, and it killed my left knee. With this in mind, how do I keep up my progress in the off-season and return harder better faster stronger? What else can I do to move up a division for next year? (Also-- your thoughts on trainer versus stationary exercise bike: give me them.) [more inside]

JSP/servlets whoas and woes

JavaFilter: I've pored over dozens of tutorials and read Head First Servlets and JSP. I thought I understood how to utilize servlets in order to generate dynamic content. I can get a simple form/one page site going but am at a complete loss when trying to come up with a design for a full web application. what should I ask a mechanic to look for before buying an uncoverted diesel car that was powered with waste oil?

I'm considering purchasing a 2009 VW Jetta TDI with 12k miles. During summer months, the owner used waste oil for fuel. (no separate tank or conversion kit). But we're in the mountains, and it gets brisk even in the summer. Should I walk away altogether? Can I ask a mechanic to specifically check out the fuel injection system? What else should I ask of the mechanic? Thanks.

Mystery plant filter

Over the last few months I've visited a few botanic gardens and found several interesting plants that I haven't been able to identify. Plant 1, the picture was taken yesterday at Denver Botanic Gardens. The bush/tree was about 5-6 feet tall and the pods were about 4 inches long. I don't think the trunk visible in the background was part of the plant. It might be related to Abrus Precatorius. [more inside]

Is there an easy way to find the lowest sales tax among nearby stores?

Is there any easy way to find out the tax rate for different stores? For example, there are probably a dozen branches of some "big box" store within a 20 mile radius of where I live, but all are in different tax jurisdictions. For a big ticket item, finding the one where the tax rate is lowest could easily justify the trip. But how do you find it? [more inside]

GraphPad Prism 5 Layout Question

I am new to GraphPad Prism and love it, but am having trouble tweaking one of my layouts. In the layout, I have 4 graphs arranged vertically. When I select one of the graph objects, it appears to have extra white space above the graph part at the top of the object. I need to remove this space so I can size the graph evenly with the other graphs on the page (this graph must go at the top of the page and if I resize the object so that the graph part is the correct size, the object does not fit at the top of the page). How do I get rid of this white space? I couldn't find a crop tool in the program, program help files and the google failed me. I'm working with the 5.0 version, if that's important.
