Quick help needed!!!!

I need your help quickly, hive mind! I have two free tix for a professional hockey game tonight given to me by the Big Brother/Big Sister program to be used with my little sister. Little just called and cancelled. Can I use the extra ticket for a friend instead?? I have been trying to get in touch with staff, but it's weekend and don't have any home numbers. Not sure of the protocol for this. Worried it might look bad even if it would be ok in this instance. Thanks much in advance! :)

What do I need to do before booking the first flight of a 5-month backpacking trip?

I'm about to book a flight from the UK to Bangkok (flying late Feb) to start a backpacking trip. I've got a recently renewed passport and funds for travel. I haven't got a flight back (not using a RTW ticket), travel insurance, VISAs, vaccinations or anything else yet. I want to book the flight so that it's real and happening, but is there anything else I really need to do FIRST? [more inside]

Anyway to remove all stars from starred Google Reader items?

I want to remove all of the stars from my Google Reader starred items, so that I can start from scratch with my starred items. Is there any way to do this without doing it one by one? My searches seem to prove that this is a desired feature but not one that can be done, but I figured if there was a group that could either (a) help or (b) find me a shortcut solution, this would be it.

4g Wireless broadband in Seattle: I'm considering replacing my Qwest DSL with 4g wireless broadband. (A cable modem solution isn't available in my building.) Also, I think I'd be purchasing the home modem version of the plan upon which I decide. I have plenty of mobile internet with my iPhone. Fast enough to stream netflix is my benchmark. It seems like Sprint is the best deal. What say you? Thanks!

How do you stay fashionably warm in winter?

I started dressing more fashionably in the last year; ditching my Kohls and Sears wardrobe for Banana Republic, J Crew, and Ann Taylor. Overall I'm pleased with my new wardrobe, but I have not figured out what to do for winter! I live in New England where it gets COLD and those thin little "sweaters" that BR and J Crew like so much don't cut it. Last winter I looked great but was frequently cold. Should I just go to LL Bean, or is there some winter fashion secret?
