Eat a bag of DivX, Microsoft!

With the recent announcement that Microsoft will no longer be making Zune players, can anyone recommend a Windows based personal media player with an internal memory of AT LEAST 30GB that supports audio (mp3, FLAC, wma), video (wmv, mp4) and podcast subscriptions? Recommendations for a new media player/software to manage all that stuff would be helpful as well. (I'm just going to cut the Zune cord entirely when my current player finally gives out). Please note, I do not want an iPod or iTunes.

Moving to San Francisco in June, how soon should we look for an apartment?

Moving to San Francisco for work in June, when should we look for an apartment? We can fly down for a weekend in April or May, or we can look once we get there and stay at a hotel/hostel in the meantime. What's going to be the best way to find a good place? We want to live in the city.

Looking for books on labor history. (Focusing on anarchism, anarcho-syndicalism, communes, etc.)

I'm looking for books on anarchist history. Topics may include: Kronstadt, The Paris Commune, The Spanish Civil War, Haymarket Square, or anything that seems thematically appropriate. Academic tests are good, and so are rigorous non-academic tests. I realize this is a serious niche market, but does anyone have any favorites?

Can I set up an autoresponse script via Gmail to target a single person?

Gmail question: Is there a way to set up a script to auto-respond to an email with included attachments? I asked a guy if I could send him my resumé and cover letter so he can circulate to relevant people at a staff meeting tomorrow, but he hasn't responded and I cannot be sure I will be awake to get his response before the meeting. It seems that it would be a faux pas to send them blindly after asking for his go-ahead. If this is possible, is there a way to do it only if a specific person emails you, or will it have to be an automatic response to anyone who emails me during this period?

Can you fill in the blanks for me on this 19th century US citizenship law?

I recall reading somewhere about a 19th century American law whereby a child born in the US would be a citizen only if the father was a citizen and the child was male. It applied either to all non-whites or to only asians. I can't seem to find this anywhere. . . probably because I can barely remember the details! Does this ring a bell for anyone?

Cover of The Cure's Just Like Heaven gone from YouTube.

Greetings, there was a cover of The Cure's Just Like Heaven on YouTube, sang by a girl. It was a slow version, beginning with a line of vocals, before the guitar swooped in. She used a Samson G-Track mic. I listened to it once before it disappeared. I do not remember her name and the video is gone. It was great. I want to hear it again. And again. Anyone remembers?

Is it OK to freely use .es for gimmicky domains?

Plenty of people are using .es (Spain) domain names for sites unrelated to Spain, but is this safe? According to nic.es, "Any individual or legal entity with interests in or ties to Spain has the right to acquire the domain.". Even at a stretch, I can't claim that for the domain/site I have in mind (I'm in the UK; site would be international but initially English only), it's purely about constructing a gimmicky English phrase (yeah, I'm not generally a huge fan of that kind of thing).
