Reputable Place to Stay On Drive to Florida

I'll be driving from Wisconsin to Panama City Beach, FL next week and we are looking for a place to rest our heads somewhere around GA or TN. Can you recommend a hotel on (or close to) the highway where we won't be shanked in the middle of the night? Our route will be on I-65, thanks in advance!

Receiving international mail from sellers who won't ship internationally

I'm looking for a service that will, say, receive/collect UK/European packages purchased on eBay, arrange international shipping to the US, and send them to me. These would be for auctions where international shipping isn't an option. So, if it's a UK auction, I'd be looking for a UK service that could accept the package on my behalf and forward it to me. I know this service exists, but what should I be googling to find it? Is it courier shipping? Does anyone have any recommendations for particular companies/individuals who offer this service?

Identify a comedian for me

I have a clip of this standup act: http://zork.net/~spork/classiccomedy.mp3 Can anyone identify this act? I actually found this out once but lost the name of the comic. This was recorded in 2006. The comedian has another act along the same lines as this, but whereas this one is ultra generic, the other one is very overly specific to LA.

Tool to coordinate a bachelor party planning for 20+ gents?

Does anyone know of a good collaborative online resource that I could use to coordinate my brother's bachelor party? Essentially, I need to be able to coordinate schedules and accept suggestions and thoughts on what we can do. I'd think that there's a great collab website for this, but my google-fu is failing mightily. Help Askme-wan-kenobi, you're my only hope.

Precedents for cutting a school program to make schools equal?

School system is trying to demonstrate equality of education across schools to comply with a longstanding federal court order. One way they are trying to achieve this is by taking away programs that are only offered at one school. Looking for other examples where this type of decision has been made, and perhaps, overturned. The best fictional depiction of a nervous breakdown was -

I'm looking for fictional depictions of people breaking under strain. Tony Soprano is the right idea, but I'd rather written references. Short fiction would be most appreciated, and 'genre' is no constraint. Just really accurate, clear depictions of someone going through a nervous breakdown, before and or after, interior or exterior point of view.

Does anyone know what this piece of music is? Heard in Shanghai.

Do you know what this music is? https://vid.me/PdCQ I filmed this standing on a conrner and the music was playing from an LCD/LED billboard behind me. Help me find this movie about an Asian science student studying at uni

I just remembered a movie that I saw part of on TV years ago. Here's all I remember about it. It was about a young man who was studying science at a university, I think he was a grad student. I think he was a genius or coming up with some cutting edge theory or discovery. It was definitely science, I'm pretty sure astronomy... He was Asian and I'm pretty sure had just come to America for college/grad school. He frequented a tea shop where he first ordered "togo" tea, not realizing it was "to go." [more inside]

Switching from expensive AT&T iPhone plan to bare-bones phone/plan

Right now I pay AT&T $120 each month for iPhone talk/text/data service. For the past several months, all I have really used is maybe 1-2 hours of talk per month and perhaps 100 texts. I don't use the data at all. I miss ye olde $40/month Cingular plan on my indestructible Nokia brick of yore. How do I get back to that place (and keep my current phone number)? [more inside]

What can you tell me about this tabernacle scroll?

According to my grandmother, this scroll was given to her by a client many years ago. Apparently, the client was actually present when items from a tabernacle were being burned during WW2. He rolled up this scroll and secreted it away safely, until he decided to gift it to grandma. Years later, she had a client who was a rabbi, and he first told her it was hung upside down, and then identified the scroll as being a particular story. Grandma says she thinks it was either Joseph's Coat or Jacob's Ladder, but she can't remember which. Can anybody tell what it is, or provide any other information?

Tell me what I need to know about buying eyeglasses for the first time

Tell me what I need to know about buying eyeglasses for the first time so I ask the right questions and don't buy things I don't need. I can't find this animated gif

This is silly but: I'm looking for a particular animated gif. It's a claymation penguin that hears the phone ringing and goes to answer it. Then his teakettle starts boiling, and then he sits down and cries, overwhelmed by too many inputs. I'm pretty sure the penguin is Pingu but no combination of search terms seems to be coming up with the image. Pretty sure I saw the gif on tumblr someplace.
