Seattle area it is... can you help me find a neighborhood?

So, the hubster is actively looking for work in the Seattle area and we have a few leads. We're definitely looking to move there soon. I've lived in the PNW before, but on the other side of the Sound. I have no idea what the area on the Seattle side is like and am looking for guidance. [more inside]

YANMD but I still a question

My piƱon trees are dying, help me save them

They have both pitch mass borer and Ips beetles (info), and I can either have an arborist inject them with pesticides or spray them. Both arborists I spoke to said their way was the best, but the first costs four times as much as the latter. Has anyone had experience with either of these things? [more inside]

There's no crazy killer behind the shower curtain, so why do I look?

This might sound silly, but it's been bugging me. Why, even though we know there's most likely no killer behind the shower curtain, do people still peek behind them before using the restroom? Have there been studies? Is it a world wide thing? What's the psychology? Google was not helpful.
