Numerous articles mention this as a thing, but my Googlefu is failing and I cannot figure out how to view photo data (ISO, aperature) without posting it to my grid. This is driving me crazy! [more inside]

I'm doing a miserable job of logging what I eat, so I am trying to think of how to set the bar as low as possible and make it super easy to have a record of what I've eaten. The easiest thing I've thought of so far is just taking photos of what I eat with my smartphone (iPhone). Should I use a particular platform that integrates well with iOS8? [more inside]

I run a website that hosts almost 2,000 sermon MP3s (all content that we own or have permission to host). I have one iPhone user who says that when they listen to THIS SERMON (just the first 2.5 minutes) the audio skips and loops back to the beginning. I had 4 other iPhone users listen and cannot reproduce this issue. I have Googled until my fingers bled. Anyone know what could be causing this? It plays fine on Windows and Linux as well.

I currently use Runkeeper on my iPhone to log runs and races (mostly 10k’s). Next year I’m doing a half-marathon and marathon. Is it worth getting a GPS watch & heart rate monitor? (Considering the Garmin 220 or 620.) I’m thinking about the convenience/functionality of a watch versus a phone, and the training benefits of a HRM. I’d rather not get another device unless it’s a marked improvement.
While I had no issues on my iPhone 4 with iOS 7 getting my desired functionality, I'm having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to replicate this functionality with my iPhone 5S and iOS 8. The main problem concerns the built-in Mail app. [more inside]
I have a whole crapload of MP3s on my work computer. I cannot access iTunes at work or download it. My company blocks it. I have no working computer at home. How do I get these files on my iPhone 4S? Thanks
Mefite New Yorkers, lend me your ears! And thoughts. I'm interested in getting an iPhone 6 tomorrow (AT&T) but not sure where to go to maximize my chances of getting one. Definitely going to avoid the Apple stores, so I'm thinking AT&T stores are my best shot. Thoughts on the best place to get a phone? Better to go to midtown near work? Or stay on the Upper West Side (where I live) and try one of the stores around here?
My current Android phone is dying, and I've had bad luck with other Android phones. Money is real tight right now, but I'm thinking about buying this used Apple iPhone 4 for $95. Will I regret the purchase? [more inside]
I'm expecting delivery of an iPhone 5s; my first smart phone evah. I searched various iPhone 5s users' forums, in addition to Google, but couldn't find an answer to this question. I want to dictate an email into the phone, have the words appear in the body of the email, and send it off to the recipient. Is this possible without special software?

My electric utility released an iPhone app called "DTE Insight" which (among other things) measures the amount of power flowing through an appliance's power cord by asking you to hold the cord against a specific part of the iPhone at a specific angle. I have tested it against my Kill-a-Watt and it seems remarkably accurate for what it is. It presumably uses the iPhone's magnetic field sensor to accomplish this, but how on earth does it actually work? [more inside]
I'm traveling to Australia and New Zealand later this month and would like to use my Verizon iPhone 5s. Can you help me figure out what SIM card to buy? [more inside]
I am doing a class project for which I need to create a high-fidelity prototype of a mobile app idea. The final assignment in the class is going to be user testing of the prototype. What I'm looking for is a prototyping tool which will allow me to easily create screens with native iPhone widgets. It needs to be high-fidelity and as interactive as possible. And it needs to be accessible on the web. What are the tools that you use? My full requirements are within. [more inside]
I am a very frequent traveler and am often in different time zones. I have an iPhone and have been using the native calendar app. Unfortunately, whenever I move between time zones my calendar "helpfully" changes the times of my flights and appointments. Using time zone support does not fix the problem, but makes it "help" in slightly different and still wrong ways. I need a calendar app that does not do this and assumes I entered the information right the first time. Does anything like this exist?
Lately I've found it difficult to find anything new to play on my iPhone (have an iPhone 5 and an iPad, but typically use my iPhone for this sort of thing). I've been playing the same old games for a while now and need some new ones. [more inside]

I have an iPhone 4S running IOS7. I do not understand the relationship between the camera roll and the photo stream. Sometimes, it seems like photos are in one or the other. Sometimes it seems like they're in both. Sometimes it seems like deleting one deletes both copies. Sometimes it doesn't. Please help me make sense of it.

My iPhone 5 speaker randomly stopped working 18 months after I bought it. I have to use speakerphone or headphones to talk on the phone. I can make it work temporarily if I press on the top right corner where the speaker is (as described here). I found that theres a point about halfway between the speaker and the right edge where, if I clip a binder clip, then the phone works! See here and here The "genius bar" genius solution was that, since I didn't get Apple care, that I dish out another 500$ for a new phone. Help me figure out a better way? [more inside]

I’m interested in the DURR, a simple display-less “watch” that vibrates every 5 minutes to influence your perception of the passing of time. Since DURR is not currently shipping and I already own an iPhone with a clock and a vibrating buzzer, I feel like this should be doable with an app. There’s already a Pebble app so I’m sure it’s not crazy. If this doesn’t currently exist, how hard might it be to write one myself? I’ve compiled things in XCode before but not written my own from-scratch Objective-C, so I’d be approaching this as a newcomer.
I'm finally going to ditch my trusty LG enV 3 for a smartphone, but I want one off-contract, and I don't want to spend a ton of money. [more inside]
Every year my boss gives me an iTunes gift card for Christmas, and I just got around to actually redeeming a few of them. Now I have $50 and need some suggestions for how to spend it. I like to play games on my phone, but definitely stick to the free almost free varieties. I figure this is a good opportunity to sample something a little more... upscale? So, give me your recommendations for games and apps costing more than, say, $3.99, that are worth spending big money on. [more inside]
Absurdly, my wife can't delete the 1000 photos on her camera roll on her iphone 4. Running ios7; with ios 6 you could apparently sync to an empty folder via itunes, but that doesn't work anymore. Any ideas? Surely there must be a straightforward way of doing this routine task?

I've just been told at the Apple store that it's a bad idea to keep the iPhone plugged into the power for long periods when fully charged, and that if possible I should really only charge it when it tells me to (ie. when the battery is almost dead). [more inside]
I have a no-contract plan at Virgin Mobile USA, which I like because it is so cheap ($35/month for unlimited data and enough calling). The downside of cheap and no-contract is expensive phones. However, I just lost my Android phone and would like to switch back to iPhone. My options at Virgin are iPhone 4, for $200, iPhone 4s, for $314, or iPhone 5, for more than I want to pay really. How to decide? [more inside]
