After three great years my Google Calendar has simply stopped sending me email notifications. I have tried the help page
here and many unhelpful forum posts
here. This seems to be a prevalent problem. I wish I could switch to something else but Gmail is what I use heart and soul for work. Any others solved this problem? I am all ears. Thanks for your time.

Is it possible to find pen pals in todays modern world? I find that I can go weeks without speaking to anyone in a meaningful way and my social anxiety is going through the roof. I think a pen pal would be a good way to start interacting with people again without having to worry about the social fears I have. Is there a site or place I could go to find pen pals? Especially ones gentle to shy people who would like to open up to others but take time to do so?

Can anyone remember the name of a puzzle game I played via a yahoo group in the early 2000s? Every week, they'd send a logic-type puzzle that was part of a larger mystery. I never solved the last two, and I wish I had. I'd love to give it another shot if this game is still online somewhere.

I receive a couple of non-Gmail-filtered spam emails a day, from a friend's compromised machine/account. I can easily deal with them / filter them / discard them.
Besides hitting "Report Spam" I'm just wondering if there is a better place to report these consistent messages. I've been getting them for 6 months or so, doesn't seem the Big G's learning algorithm is ever gonna catch on...

Should my email address be joey@joeyshabadoo, j.shabadoo@joeyshabadoo, admin@joeyshabadoo or something else? And does it make any kind of difference, or am I just overthinking@plateofbeans?

I share a gmail account with someone. I read the messages on Mac's Mail program, she reads them in Gmail.
I would like to be able to read them in my program and have them remain marked as unread in Gmail. Are there any plugins you fine folks can think of to help us out?

An ex-friend I ended the frienship with contacted me via email after over a year of no contact. The email was along the lines of, "do you still use this account? I guess sending this means I wish to reconnect." I don't want to resume the friendship with her, but she has serious mental health issues and we have a lot of friends in common so I feel obligated to answer the email... mostly to not seem like an a-hole. Do I have to answer it? If so, what should I say? I'm afraid even a really vague response will encourage her; she has really poor boundaries.

A friend of mine sent me a infograph about how much CO2 is produced from a single spam email. In the infograph it said, "The average GHG emission associated with a single spam message is 0.3 grams of CO2" I'm not sure the the claim is a valid one and would like to see some similar studies or links about the topic.

What's the best service to have a bunch of users sign up for email accounts? I'll be teaching an intro to computers (Macs) class, and I'm sure people will want to use email. So, for people who don't already have an email address, I'll go through registering for an email account. But I really want to show them Mail.app so the service should have excellent IMAP support.

There is a woman I work with who, up until today, I really liked. She’s in an office in another state, but we clicked well over the phone and she’s otherwise a pretty terrific person, and I pretty much considered her a personal friend outside of the workplace. Today she forwarded to me this epically offensive, crazy racist e-mail, and I’m not sure what to do. Advice and/or resources would be appreciated.

My Yahoo small business account (webhosting) was closed because my autopay credit card expired. I called to try to reopen and was led to believe that my website would be put back up like old times once I signed up for another year of webhosting. This does not now seem to be the case and I am now going to cancel the order within the 30 day period. Who do you recommend as the best webhost provider for a very small service business? (HTML5 capability would be nice.)
I need to get up and running with someone else asap before i miss more emails/potential clients. Also, should I use the new webhost provider for email or something like googleapps?
Thank you for any advice.
