Should I Try to Indeminfy?

I'm working on a book about the public radio pledge drive. I'm looking at how and why they work as they do and what might be done to make them work better. I'll be referring to specific examples of what I think are weaknesses in how stations conduct them and how those practices, in turn, annoy listeners and hurt drive effectiveness. Does that mean I have to identify the stations? [more inside]

Looking for a public radio research entity.

Is there a college or university or blogger or non-profit (other than a CPB or NPR affiliated organization) that examines the operation or behavior of public radio stations? Not necessarily another news organization but something along the lines of the Electronic Freedom Foundation - like a watchdog (other than itself) that insures its coverage is fair and its function is ethical? The publication "Current" says it is independent from public radio as "Stars and Stripes" says it is independent from the military. Are there others?

Can you help me find resources for journalists?

I am looking for journalistic organizations that, (1) provide statistical number crunching and (2) legal interpretation to help to reporters working on complex stories. Whenever I've had an ethical question, I sought the help of Poynter, but on this current project, I need more specific help. Are there non profit journalistic entities whose mission is to help freelance reporters and/or their organizations with their legal and quantitative research?

Not counting Guidestar, I have compiled a list of about 1800 NPs in the state from six other lists (Charity Navigator, nonprofitlist.org, Oregon Department of Justice, Combined Federal Campaign Oregon, Non Profit Association of Oregon and GiveGuide2014). I want to explore the work of some of those little known who never get publicity or don't have a lot of money but have missions worthy of attention. [more inside]
