(Should I/How can I) have concrete driveway repair and tuckpointing work done in cold weather?

A contractor is planning to come out this week and replace a substantial portion of my driveway. It (was and) will be a concrete driveway. The same contractor ('s father) will also be doing a substantial amount of tuckpointing. I live in Cleveland and as you know this is mid-November. Should I be concerned about the cold/snow/rain affecting the durability of their work? What should I expect them to do to adapt to the weather? Should I just try to get them to wait until Spring? Thermarest Patching, Without Patch Kit?

My wife and I just held one of our thermarests underwater. We counted nine separate leaks bubbling air. Wet, it sounded like a squeaky radiator as all the air leaked out. I blame our sharp-clawed and inquisitive cats. Anyhow, I don't know if we can get to a camping store before the weekend-- does anyone have experience patching these things with bike tube kits, shoe goo, or other easily-available gunk?

Refinishing a small spot on a hardwood floor

We recently moved out of an apartment with hardwood floors. The owner claims there is damage to the floor where we had a desk. He says he needs to "talk to his floor guy" to see how much it will cost to repair, which will then come out of our security deposit. I have no idea how much spot repair runs, and I'd like a general idea so that we can stand our ground in case he comes up with a high estimate. [more inside]
