I just discovered that my fairly elderly refrigerator and freezer have stopped cooling. What is most likely to be wrong, and is it worth it to attempt to fix it?

I just bought a Blackberry Bold 9700, and unlocked it (so there's no warranty). I have used it for about a month or 6 weeks, and following a trip to the beach where it did not get wet, the buttons are not responding properly. Example: the keyguard button on the top left of the phone locks keys but won't unlock keys. The End Call / Power button ends calls and turns off the phone, but won't turn it on. All the keys work but pushing two buttons at once cancels both requests. I've re-installed the software (I think) and left it in rice overnight and both did not help, except for an hour or so when it randomly started working and then stopped again.
Do you have any ideas what's wrong with it, and if I am able to fix it myself? (I have a T5 screwdriver if I need to crack it open). Thanks in advance! :)

I'm doing some preliminary research into what it would take to run a garage on solar power. This, of course, means using a solar array to power the heavy duty shop equipment that runs on 220.

We have six Herman Miller
Aeron chairs in varying states of disrepair in our office. Some need new parts and a couple don't tilt or raise properly, etc. Some were bought new and some were bought secondhand, and everything I've found online says to take them to a dealer, which I'd like to avoid (hassle, having no chairs for a while, etc). I'd like someone to come over and diagnose them and replace parts and/or fix them on-site (I'm in Manhattan). Anybody know a service that does this?

I used to know of a website where people could report on their vehicle breakdowns, repairs, etc so that other people could research on the reliability of various automobiles before making a buying decision and so forth. I'm sure the site is still around but I cannot find it for the life of me.
Anyone got a clue what this website is?

The brakes in my
fairly low-milage SUV have begun to squeak when stopping at slow speeds or when the car has just been turned on. What could be the problem and how can someone who knows nothing about cars get reputable service and not be ripped off? Bonus if anyone knows of a good place for this in Santa Barbara or Ventura county!

I have a brass
gas line manifold for a draft beer system that has developed a hairline crack. To fix it, I'm contemplating one of the following: (a) fill/wick with solder using a plumber's propane torch;
(b) JB Weld epoxy; or (c) asking a friend to weld it (hi MrMoonPie!).
Thoughts?

Mold -- Is it possible to eliminate mold as part of a home rehab project without hiring an all-out mold professional? Will it be sufficient to remove all the drywall, scrub and bleach the wood behind (or replace anything damaged), and stop the sources of water intrusion? Did you deal with mold as part of a major fixer-upper?

I just purchased a Suzuki SV650 and I want to know where I can find a starter tool kit for maintaining the motorcycle. I bought a Haynes Service Manual/Handbook and want to regularly maintain the bike myself. Changing oil, check spark plugs, air filter, tire pressure, drive chain wear, etc... I would rather not buy all the tools separately one by one as that would not only be more time consuming but I don't know where to start.
