Our small three person family is looking to rent a cabin on or near Mount Mitchell in North Carolina this winter. Does anyone have any suggestions for rentals with awesome mountain views?

I am trying to find a summer sublet in Portland on Craigslist. I have sent out a handful of responses to ads, but so far, I haven't gotten any responses--not even a "sorry, it's been filled" or a "sorry, you're not what we are looking for". Is this standard when looking for sublets in a major city, or should I be rethinking the wording of my contact email? [more inside]

My wife and I are in a position to possibly buy the duplex we have rented for many years. Ownership would entail renting the other half of the building to a tenant. That half is currently unoccupied. We have never been homeowners or landlords before.
Has anyone ever lived in the same building as their tenant? I can think of both perks and nightmares. Any considerations or advice to the reality of that scenario?

Want to rent a BMW 3 or equivalent when I am in NJ. Pick up Newark airport or any other NJ location within 60 miles of Newark Airport. I found websites that rent out exotic cars for like $2k a day. I am not looking for an exotic car. I just want something like a bmw 3 or audio a4 etc. Can anyone recommend a site or rental company? I can look up the rates but if you know them then feel free to mention it. Thanks!

I need to rent (or acquire, if renting is silly) a sandblaster, as well as the correct abrasive material to sandblast the interior of a 22' fiberglass sailboat.
I have access to a large air compressor, and I'm handy with tools - just never used a sandblaster before. [more inside]

I am taking a short (weekend) let on a holiday property just outside of London, UK. It's a big house with lots of bedrooms that is used for weddings, hen parties and corporate team-building as well as for family holidays. In addition to 100% payment in full in advance (which I expected), the people letting the property are demanding £1l as a damage deposit one month before I arrive at the property. Their T&Cs state that they will give this back to me one month after I leave the property. [more inside]

Need tips and strategy for getting a rental house. Our rental market is very tight (in north Seattle). Landlords can afford to be picky. At first glance, we don't look like ideal tenants.
We are putting our big fancy house on the market. We've been wanting to downsize for a long time. Just now, the market timing is very good. Our property is desirable and we can expect a decent price, and equity pay-out at closing.
When the house sells, we plan to rent a small house in North Seattle. Looking for a 6 month to 1 year lease.

Are there any good rental agencies in Portsmouth, NH?
My brother needs to find an apartment there in the next few weeks and Craiglist isn't turning up much. We are accustomed to the Boston area where there are countless rental agencies but it seems that Portsmouth doesn't have any.

Isn't my landlord responsible for payment in cleanup of heavy Hurricaine flood damage to rental? I was told to get Flood insurance for my possessions, which I have, with a limited policy I could only get with Management pulling strings. Now multimillionaire landlord wants me to pay for cleanup through my insurance (which doesn't cover that.) Is this legal in NJ?
