My son will be spending a semester at Dublin City University starting in September (coming from the US). He's been trying to find a place to stay for himself and another student since January. Nothing available on campus and the popular off campus places are all full.

My friend needs advice on renting a house in San Diego. He has been there for years, but he wants to scale down from 5 total roommates (including him) to 3 total roommates, including him.
In order to scale down like this, he'll have to charge at least $1000 per roommate. Then each person will have tons of space.
He wants roommates that are very nice, honest, and super-clean.
Is this do-able? What can he do (he's in no position to make any major home improvements) to make it more likely that he'll find what he's looking for within a reasonable period of time?

Moving to DC, looking to rent in Tenleytown or Georgetown. But, I'm having a hard time finding good "house" rental listings. Ideally, we're looking for 4 bedrooms (3 plus an office of some sort), close to metro, some kind of yard would be nice.
We're looking to keep it under $4k per month. Starting in June and we're here at least 2 years.
Any thoughts of where there might be some good listings (besides Craigslist), or if you know of a good one for rent that might fit, let me know.
