My apartment manager has been coming into my unit to show it unannounced several times now, after I've submitted my 30 day move-out notice. I have less than a week left at the building - besides it being an inconvenience (and just seriously annoying on a personal level), is there any point to complaining at this time? [more inside]

My apartment management has started to drive me nuts. For a month now they've been claiming that my August check has bounced - except it very clearly hasn't, with bank statements shown to them to back it up. Yesterday, I was told that I'm still on their late list for payments. Argh! How the bloody hell do I make this go away? It's ridiculous! [more inside]

I'm looking to rent an apartment in Montreal (Plateau area) coming from the US - so, lacking a Canadian credit score, Canadian references, etc. Should I be saving up to pay several months of rent from the start? Is it a common practice? Also, what could I do or bring with me during the apartment hunt to look as polished as possible? [more inside]
