I have a server running at home. I would like to connect to that server via web browser, and upon login, I would like Quicken (or some other single, predetermined application) to appear and be usable. I don’t want to be able to access any other parts of the computer via the browser. What software do I need to accomplish this? [more inside]

Please help me find a way to listen to my music remotely. Do you know of any media-player software that can access files stored on a different server requiring user authentication? Double bonus points if it's open source. [more inside]

I am looking for a commercial software package that allows me to perform REMOTE COMPUTING while on business trips. About every six months, I travel extensively and then there is a lull to my travels. I do not want to pay a monthly fee; yet I want a REMOTE SOFTWARE package that will perform seamlessly. I want, and I am willing to purchase, a good program that will allow me to connect to my home computer to perform various tasks. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I need to make an oral presentation with slides (preferably PowerPoint) to a small audience (about 15) in a room in a neighboring country. What is the best way to achieve this requiring minimum effort on their end? [more inside]

Can anyone recommend easy to install, cross platform monitoring software for Mac OS X - that is, something that would allow a parent, employer or teacher to, from their PC, monitor the screen of a Macintosh? Will remote desktop do this? Is it relatively easy to install?

Im too good to pay for a remote desktop application so I searched for the best/most secure and found Back Oriface 2k. The problem is that now Mcafee shits it self and deletes it! Is there anyway to get McAfee to ignore or it am i going to have to uninstall Mcafee?
or - second question: Is there a better one out there that doesn't have the unfortunate reputation as being a script kiddie tool?
