So I have a question about how USB devices work. I want to know how you register a driver so that it will automatically load when you plug in a device. Does anyone have the process for this?
I just noticed that my OH registration tags on my car expired 3 months ago. I'm living in Mississippi and moving to WA on 7/15. I thought about trying to renew my OH registration before I move, but it takes 10 business days to process and requires an emissions check number, which I don't have (it's also very expired). Is there anything I can do at this point to get registered and/or avoid getting ticketed until I can?
Hi I lease a GM- Chevy Malibu in Ohio I am moving to Florida and I called the registration office and they say that they need the title... Florida holds the title in their office and not the lienholder?? I am so confused about this This is crazy- GM owns the car not Florida
I have recently been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and depression stemming from PTSD. I've been taking psychiatrist-prescribed medication as well as regularly seeing a talk therapist in addition to the doctor prescribing the medication. My doctor has noted the prevalence of my dog in my pursuit of a healthy daily lifestyle and offered to write a letter to help get my dog certified as a service / support animal. [more inside]
Can someone explain to a non-American what being a 'registered Democrat' or 'registered Republican' voter means? Who do you register with, why would you want to and what does it mean in practice? Is it in any way connected with being registered to vote, full stop? I've been trying to work this out through context for many years, but I am defeated.
My front license plate was stolen. The police officer who took the report said to go to the station on Monday and get a copy of the report, then go to the RMV for further instructions. The lease is in my name, but the registration is in the name of the lien holder, Nissan Finance. And since it's a lease, I don't have the title to the car. So, what do I need to bring to the RMV to deal with this?
My partner moved from Ontario to Massachusetts two years back. His car was registered in Canada. He put his certificate in the washer and it came out in pieces that he taped together. MA didn't accept this torn up certificate when he tried to register the car, and ON was unresponsive about mailing a new certificate, so he procrastinated the registration. Meanwhile, we just realized that the ON registration expired a few months back, so he shouldn't even be driving this car. What are his options now to get the car registered in MA?
I currently live in DC and am moving to NC on August 13th. I am planning to purchase a new car at some point in the next two months. Ideally, it would be before the move because that means a safer and roomier ride down. But I can't figure out if we might have to pay a bunch of fees twice - and can't get a straight answer from dealers. [mi] [more inside]
The organization I work for puts on a couple of large-scale events every year that involve a lot of moving parts. I’m looking for some kind of software/web-based solution to help us manage some of those moving parts, particularly the registration process for vendors (merchandise & food) and possibly also volunteers. Specifics within! [more inside]
In a month or so, I will be buying a used car from a relative in a far away state to bring to New York state (not city). What do I need to do to be in compliance with the law, regarding insurance and registration? I already have a NY state license.
I may be able to pick up an obscure but useful domain name soon. However, it was once a domain used for command-and-control systems for a well-known trojan that spread throughout the Internet. For the last five years, it's been held by a security/enforcement group that took it over. [more inside]
Why does it cost so much to renew vehicle registration? This is bullshit. How much trouble could I get in if I don't do it? Is there some sort of loop hole to register more cheaply? This question involves California and Oregon. [more inside]
I will try to list all the main points to my question. I am getting confused as to what steps I need to take and which forms I need to complete. My parents own a car in NY. They want to give me the car as a gift. I live in Pennsylvania. I am trying to make sense of the title transfer paperwork and the affidvait of gift form. Has anyone done this before? If so, can you walk me through which forms I need to fill out? Do I need proof of insurance before I attempt to register the car? The car is currently insured through my parent's and I am listed on their policy. This is my first time registering a car and I don't have much experience with PennDOT. Not sure if this matters but I have a PA driver's license. Thank you!
Asking for a friend... A few years ago I registered $MY_FULL_NAME.com. I forgot to renew the registration a while back and it's been claimed by someone else. I'd like to get it back... [more inside]

I administer the publication sales website for the non-profit I work for, and probably one of the biggest customer service issues we encounter is users being confused by the registration and log-in process. I want to propose a better process, but am hampered by my personal unfamiliarity with web design, and the complication of having a different process for signing on for multiple user types. I leased my car in Missouri (I am in Kansas). The dealer put a 30 day Missouri dealer tag on the car. It has just expired, as I lease, the dealer must do the initial registration and give me my actual license plate. Since I live in Kansas, it must be registered in Kansas, according to the dealer. However, Kansas is backed up on registrations. To combat this they issue 60 day dealer tags. The dealer says since I'm registering in Kansas, I have 60 days to register regardless of what my expired Missouri tags say. I think this is not true and I need valid tags to drive, what's the right answer? [more inside]
I was told (in an argument about feminism, of all darned things) that in order to be eligible to vote in the USA a (male) citizen is required to register to be drafted into the military. Is this true at all? [more inside]

This question is a follow-up to this one I asked recently. Having purchased the H4n through Amazon, which came with a cd for the required Cubase program by Steinberg, I'm now trying to register as directed by product info (apparently there's a 30-day window of opportunity). What an Alice-in-Wonderland nightmare I'm in. [more inside]

My unmarried partner and I live in Queens. He had a car when we moved in together, and the title, registration, and insurance have always been entirely in his name - I didn't even drive it. The car died this summer and we are looking to buy a used car free and clear from a friend, so car payments are thankfully not an issue. I have been thinking that maybe I should consider being more involved with the car, but I am utterly clueless about the most basic details, and don't know where to start. [more inside]
I would like to register copyright for four works to fulfill a funding agency administrative requirement. They do not require that the registration be done in any particular country. I am registering solely to fulfill this requirement so I would like to do it in the simplest and cheapest way possible. Unless registering somewhere will somehow abridge my rights in an irrevocable way, I do not care about the legal aspects, only that registration is done by 15 September, if possible. [more inside]
I'm leaving NYC on Friday and driving to Canada for 12 days. I have a rental booked, but also just bought a car out of state and had it delivered to a mechanic. They did a safety inspection and some minor work that will not be completed until Friday, the same day I need to leave. The car does not have temporary out of state tags or license plates but I have an appointment with the DMV on Thursday. If possible, I'd like to drive this vehicle to Canada but am very skeptical of the timeline. [more inside]
I am 24 and about to be a car owner. Next month I am moving from Utah to Indiana alone with the car, which is currently owned by mother. We don't know whether I should be given the title, have the car registered in my name and get an independent insurance policy in Utah before I go, or leave everything in my mother's name until I get to Indiana. Background: I was in the middle of doing a mild restoration on my little brother's bike two years ago (2000 ZX-7R) when he died very unexpectedly. I don't know what to do with it now and just realized that it hasn't been registered since 2008. [more inside]

Changing my residency from NJ to CT. Simultaneously purchasing a used car to replace a NJ registered, just totaled car (for which I still have plates). And simultaneously switching from old NJ health coverage, to new CT Obamacare health coverage. So, have to change license, registration, mailing address, health care, and anything else you all might suggest. Is there any particular order I need to do these things in?
My company is interested in securing some domains related to our business under the new .nyc top level domain. Some of them will be our companys' names, and others we would like are more general descriptions of our business and are likely to be highly sought after. I've registered for updates on the official site and I'll act right away as soon as I get any updates. What can I do beyond that to better my chances? Anywhere I can "pre-register"? Are there brokers for this sort of thing?

Hello, I am currently developing a small food business. I am interested in selling my food on weekends at outdoor markets across the city. I think this is a good way for me to get my feet off the ground and see how people respond to my product. What I can't quite figure out is if it is too soon to start thinking about registering the company name and logo? If so, would I register my small business as a LLC business or corporation? I am a bit confused. Would someone be able to help? Thank you!

Asking for a friend, this is regarding CA traffic law: From what she has said, the due date of the fine/court appearance is coming up in two days and seeing as her car is still in the shop, what options does she have? I'm trying to figure out a way to have a car that I own insured and driven primarily by my parents. I can't transfer the title, as there's still a lien and I will be making payments. However, my parents need a car urgently, so I need to get them to a good, insured state with a reliable automobile. Does anyone have experience with this?

So I was interested in this old Mercedes posted on craigslist and called the guy. He said it had just been crashed into in his driveway by his cousin and his insurance was "totaling" it; however it was really just cosmetic damage and there was a buyback option. The car would have "salvaged" on the title, but since he was getting paid by the insurance company, he would just let me have the car for whatever the buyback cost was. Called a few days later and he said that cost was $1000 less than the price he had originally advertised the car at, so I figured I might as well go look at it. Read on for the whole story...
