I want to record baseball games which often take 3~4 hours. I've tried a Radio Shark to record directly into my computer, but I can't seem to get the reception that I can get with a tuner and a cassette deck. I've tried to find a dual cassette deck that records in auto~reverse on BOTH decks~they used to be common but it seems they're no longer made. Can you help me?
We have a satellite provider rather than cable tv. I recently bought from e-bay a Toshiba RD-XS235 which comes with a "TV Guide" feature built in, unlike my previous Toshiba recorder, an RD-XS32SU (the drive of which is giving out after extensive use). The reviews say that there is a "manual recording" feature, and I looked up the owners' manual online and found the relevant page, but the directions do not seem to work. Is that because I need to allow a few hours for the TV Guide feature to attempt to "kick in"? The manual says to "turn it off overnight for the TV Guide programming to take effect." It WON'T take effect because we no longer use a cable provider. I prefer the manual programming anyhow. Does anyone in the hive mind know how to manually program the RD-XS235? My frustration is running high right now! Any and all advice is welcome! Thanks, techies.

What do I (a totally non-musical/non-technologically savvy person) need in order to get started recording music on a Korg D1600 16-Track Digital Recorder that I just found myself in possession of? I want to wirelessly control basic transport functions in my recording software without using an internet-based network or buying a Frontier Tranzport. We have done some market research, and we are aware that digital audio recorders and Mac computers are not exactly friends or buddies. We want to do some reasonably priced field recordings, and mostly voice logging. An easy interface with iTunes would be a major plus. What have you used, and what do you recommend?
According to All Music Guide, the band Mercury Rev "recorded a demo onto a reel of 35mm magnetic film." The classic record "Instinct" by Richard Davies / The Moles claims to be "THE FIRST 35MM RECORDING" but the practice seems to date to the 50s. Can anyone explain how this actually works? Audio/mobile phone idea/question: I was at my kid's band concert recently, trying to record some of it for Grandma. I only thought of it after we got there so I was using my iPhone. Not a bad recorder, but it's hand held. It picks up me moving in my seat, people fidgeting, etc. Why isn't there an app/service where I could record the concert on my less-than-professional-equipment, and a bunch of OTHER Dads and Moms record the same thing from other vantage points (with other noise!) then put 'em all together subtract the noise and end up with a beautifull, clear, stereo recording. With the iphone's bluetooth/wifi/gps the iphones should be able to figure out where they are relative to each other. Is the doable? Am I nuts? Does it already exist?
