I have a small business with 3 phone lines, and I would like to have our phone calls with customers recorded to the computer automatically for quality and training purposes. Is there some sort of audio card I need for each computer that can do this? I would also need a recommended software to use (doesn't have to be free). Is this feasible, especially having it start recording automatically without employee input? [more inside]

I bought an Alesis MultiMix 8 the other day, which is an 8 input firewire interface. It works OK but the main problem I have is that the stereo out (from the computer to the mixer) cuts out very frequently. [more inside]

I'm trying to determine the best bare bones microphone system for recording a basic voice-over demo cd for the smallest financial outlay possible. Is there a tremendous advantage to USB mics over 1/8" mics? Can I get decent quality without having to buy a preamp, or is phantom power the only way to go?
