Introduction to choreography book

I'm looking for a good, introductory level book on choreography. I've taken several dance classes informally but have never formally studied dance or any performance art at the post secondary level so something aimed at a popular audience or 100-level textbook would be ideal. Any recommendations, hivemind?

Books that will make me weep?

Help me be sad. Recommend to me depressing, sad, mournful fiction. Books that made you sad and a tad tearful. I just want to access these emotions and be taken away in good writing and wonderful characters. Any genre is acceptable except YA (unless you can prove it is real exceptional YA I suppose). Less cliched angst situations as well.

Data mining book recommendation.

Data mining book recommendation. I would like a recommendation for a single book which would give me a comprehensive guide to data mining. Ideally this book would contain plenty of examples of real world applications of data mining techniques in a variety of contexts. Bonus points if it contains exercises which I can do myself in whatever software package they recommend. There is no shortage of resources online but I would value a recommendation from someone on here. [more inside]

What adventure fiction is set in a nomadic culture?

What books and movies feature fantasy or adventure in a nomadic culture? I just watched the movie Mongol, and it really reminded me of how much I enjoyed the enjoyed the Daenerys chapters in the Song of Ice and Fire series. A book about Indochina, to make my mother happy.

My mom wants a book on French Indochina, and I'd like to find a good one for her. Preferably non-fiction, but good fiction with some insight into history and culture would work, too. The exact historical time range is flexible, but she's mostly interested in the area pre-Vietnam War.
