When I lived in France, I used to make a super easy, delicious cake for the kids that involved using a container of yogurt and then measuring all the other ingredients using that container of yogurt. I've totally forgotten how to make this now. Anyone know what I'm talking about or where to find a recipe?

OK, so yesterday I stumbled upon a Filipino supermarket and on a whim I bought a jar of coco jam
. It is not quite what I expected: extremely thick, extremely sticky, extremely sweet; like a very solid caramel; not strongly coconutty. I don't think it's going to spread on toast! So: any suggestions for how to use or cook with the stuff?

I want to start batch cooking my lunches for the month. I want to create delicious, HEALTHY individually-portioned frozen meals that I can pop in the microwave. Other catch: they have to be relatively cheap to make. Suggestions for recipes that fit the bill?

A soybean roaster has just given me a bag (about a pound) of freshly roasted, shelled peanuts, with skins still on. They are unsalted, somewhat larger than usual Spanish peanuts. Coincidentally, I'm probably going to meet a friend tonight, so how should I prepare these for eating with beer? Should I boil them, heat them in microwave, something else? I have various kinds of salt (Jane's, Lawry's, lemon pepper), Nawlins cajun seasoning, parmesan.

I have a small collection of cookbooks that I'd like to digitize with the goal of making them searchable. I am fine with destroying the physical books in the process, e.g. cutting off the binding to make the book easier to scan. What is the best way to go about this? My initial idea is to scan the books with an auto-sheet feeder (hence losing the binding) and use OCR (Acrobat Pro) to yield searchable PDFs. I use a Mac, but have access to PCs. I tried this suggestion
but the results weren't thorough or viewable enough for me.

Can anyone point me to a source of packed/brown-bag lunch recipes that genuinely take no more than 5 minutes to prepare, and aren't overreliant on peanut-butter-and-banana sandwiches? Bonus points if it isn't all mimsy about low-fat mayonnaise and such. Also I only have an English freezer, so batch pre-prep is out. [more inside]
