[WeddingFilter] I need recommendations for a really, really basic book or Web site that explains how to plan your own wedding. Bonus points if it holds your hand and tells you "there, there, it will all be alright." [more inside]

What kind of cell phone reception do you get in Denver's Colorado Convention Center? We're possibly involved in a conference there in a few weeks, and a project we're doing hinges on coverage good enough to send and receive SMS in the convention center. I've heard that it's "spotty" in the below-ground parts of the center, but that could mean anything ... is it good enough to deal with hundreds of attendees bouncing text messages back & forth? Ideally, we need to know ASAP. =)

This is a question about AM radio reception in my car. I currently live two states away from where I grew up, and every now and then I drive back for a visit. When I start getting close, I try to tune in to my hometown public radio station, 910 AM. It seems like I can never get good reception until I'm just 20 or 30 miles out. When I leave my hometown again, though, having tuned into the station in town, I get good clear reception for nearly 200 miles. Why does this happen? [more inside]

I'm getting married. We're looking for a cool place to have the ceremony and reception. We're looking for places that aren't fire stations, town halls, or church basements. Unless they're *really cool* fire stations. I'd also like to not be at a wedding factory, where they pump out weddings multiple times a day. [more inside]

I have a Blackberry 7290 and live in a basement apartment. I intermittently get one bar of signal in most places inside, but full service right outside the windows. What is the most effective option to increase service indoors so that I can maintain phone calls? I've seen the expensive cellular repeaters and I can't really justify spending that much. Thanks.

My father and I have been fighting a small battle against our HOA who blocks every attempt to have a cell phone tower installed nearby. What can I arm my dad with to take into the next HOA meeting so that next time his request is refused on the grounds that a tower would give all of us cancer, he can respond with scientific evidence to the contrary?

The (rented) property I'm about to move into only has a cable to the external aerial in what I'm going to be using as the bedroom. This is no good to me - I need tv reception in the living room. I don't want to have to run a cable through the house and I've tried amplified indoor aerials elsewhere with disheartening results. So is there some sort of wireless device I can plug into the back of my tv and into the aerial socket in the bedroom that'll give me decent reception?

Is there away around using an A/B switch for my digital cable? Here's the deal, the Cable In on my television is malfunctioning. I get intermittent reception, almost as if the cable is not making full contact. I have a VCR, DVR and DVD player. The television only has one set of A/V inputs, which are currently being used by the DVD player. The DVR is not compatible with the DVD player, so I can't run them through the same A/V lines. I went to Radio Shack and the only solution they could come up with was using an A/B switch, which requires me to physically switch between the DVR and DVD player. Isn't there any other technology that would not require me to get off my lazy butt and walk across the living room when I want to switch between television and a DVD? I've been unemployed for four months, so buying a new t.v. is out of the question.

I live in California. If I have a wedding reception at a hotel or restaurant and serve alcohol using the facility's bartenders and servers, who is responsible/legally liable if one of my guests gets into an accident - me, as the host of the event, or the hotel/restaurant who provided the servers and bartenders?
