A new transmission? Really? It's a Toyota?

My pickup is a 2000 Toyota Tacoma V6 4X4 with an annoying problem of popping out of first gear both under load and when not under load. This is apparently a known issue with Tacomas as documented here. I've replaced the bushings per the linked article except for the white one on the end of the shift lever visible in the second photo of step four. This part is on order but I'm not optimistic. What are my options? [more inside]

Howto: rebuild my life & home after a disaster?

I lost pretty much everything I own when my apartment building burned down about a week ago. I had been putting most of my energy & time into job search. Now I've had to take a big step backwards & deal with some basic problems involving recovering from a disaster & rebuilding my life from scratch. That's where I'm turning to you, the Hive. I'm looking for ideas, tips, stories & practical suggestions for starting over after you've lost everything in a disaster. I'm somewhat at a loss & anything you can do to make this process easier would be greatly appreciated.

This disc was made for bootin'

I would like to make a custom boot disc that is very simple to the user. All it would do is restore an image from 6 DVDs to a hard drive. The only options I would like the user to see is: 1) format drive 2) restore drive 3) exit I would like to create this menu and all sub menus that I see fit. I have seen UBCD but it is too complicated for the people I know. I would like to use Driveimage XML and have it read the discs one at a time to restore the drive. Any suggestions?

MoveableType

As a self-imposed php refresher, I've recently been toying around with writing custom movable type submission frontends for a few less web-literate family members (Basically just simplified forms that throw the user input into the MT mysql database). I've got everything ticking along nicely, but none of the submitted entries will show up until I log in and rebuild the site from within movable type. My question: Is there some way to either force a rebuild from a custom form, or automate a rebuild? I've searched the MT forums with no success. I'm using MT 2.64 with minimal knowledge of its inner workings. Any suggestions / pointers / links are appreciated!
