Some of my best friends are getting married, and they have asked my husband and I to give a reading during the ceremony. Help us find the perfect reading. Difficulty level: Must be around 5 minutes long.

I've been asked to select and read something non-biblical at a family wedding. Aside from the standard Shakespeare sonnets, I'm stumped. I'd love some meaningful contemporary suggestions (something from David Foster Wallace perhaps?).

Wedding readings: I'm looking for a poem or a passage that will emphasize the couple's love of travel and their focus on the environment/outdoors.

Getting married next week and need a French reading. We're bilingual but our ceremony is all in English. As acknowledgment of the French side of our culture (an as a concession to the French side of the family) we'd like to have a French reading as part of our ceremony. The only problem is that we don't know any appropriate French poetry or other nice words that could be read. The wedding's in a week and I'm starting to freak out a bit, although the worst thing that could happen is we skip the reading (deep breaths....)

I've been asked to give a reading at a friend's wedding, so I'm looking for a poem that would be appropriate. Ideally, it should be modern (written after 1900) and sweet, but not sexual, religious, schmaltzy, or emetic. Most suggestions online are variations of Maya Angelou's "Touched By An Angel". I found the
previous two AskMe questions on this topic helpful, and I have some ideas, but I'm hoping to generate a few more.
