Good hard news sources for teens

Searching for stuff about news for teens tends to get, well, news stories about teens or teeny-bopper mags. Please tell me about a good online news site aimed at teens that covers stuff like politics, the economy, international relations, etc. Does it exist? Teachers or librarians, can you help? Best New Yorker articles of the last 2 years?

I have a digital subscription to the New Yorker. I love it dearly when I make time to read it. I haven't made the time in... about two years... and I would like to read the best articles I've missed in that time. So: which articles published in the New Yorker in 2012 and 2013 are absolute must-reads?

What publications give you an advantage in your line of work?

What publications give solid advantages in which lines of work when read regularly? A few examples might be McKinsey when read by HR managers, A List Apart when read by designers, Hacker News when read by programmers, and Poynter when read by journalists. What else is there in these fields and in others that puts a person ahead?

Zinio Magazine Reader

A recently purchased iBook comes with Zinio, an application that allows for the onscreen reading of print magazines. I like the concept, and the interface is decent, but their selection is paltry and it all seems a bit too pricey. Still, I might be willing to give it a go. Does anyone use the service regularly? What do you think of it? Is there a comparable service out there that might be better? [more inside]

Magazines for elderly woman

What are some good magazines for an elderly women with severe depression?

She loves dogs, speaks decent Polish, has limited mobility, and an incontinence problem.

It's hard for me to judge what her interests are, because she doesn't want to do anything. she sits around with her 90 year old boyfriend, who, in all honesty, is depressingly boring.
