What publications give solid advantages in which lines of work when read regularly? A few examples might be
McKinsey when read by HR managers,
A List Apart when read by designers,
Hacker News when read by programmers, and
Poynter when read by journalists. What else is there in these fields and in others that puts a person ahead?

Are there any stores on the web that act as online newsstands? Not in the sense that they provide online copies of magazines, but in that they have a wide selection of recent issues.

I'm looking for popular books, novels, magazines, comic books...in European French (not Canadian French). I'd also like to be able to easily order/purchase them from home (preferably from places like Amazon.com).

A recently purchased iBook comes with
Zinio, an application that allows for the onscreen reading of print magazines. I like the concept, and the interface is decent, but their selection is paltry and it all seems a bit too pricey. Still, I might be willing to give it a go. Does anyone use the service regularly? What do you think of it? Is there a comparable service out there that might be better?

What are some good magazines for an elderly women with severe depression?
She loves dogs, speaks decent Polish, has limited mobility, and an incontinence problem.
It's hard for me to judge what her interests are, because she doesn't want to do anything. she sits around with her 90 year old boyfriend, who, in all honesty, is depressingly boring.
