I am literally allergic to nice clothes. When I wear collared button down shirts (with a stiff collar), I get red itchiness all around my neck, and if my hands touch it and then my eyes, my eyes start to burn. What am I allergic to? What can I do to stop it?

The other day, I developed 3 itchy red marks (they look like bug bites) on my elbow. They're in a triangle formation, and everything I look up online indicates that they could be bed bugs. However, I got them while I was sitting at my desk at work, 6 hours after I'd left my house, and wearing a long-sleeved shirt. Is there anything else that would cause marks like these?

After a week of what was diagnosed as some form of Viral Syndrome Meningitis, I just found a big target-shaped rash on the back of my leg. Looks just like the pictures. This started on Sunday of Labor Day weekend after camping. Now that I'm pretty sure it's Lyme Disease what should I ask for and do first? I'm about 10 days into the infection.

Starch is food. So, why do we put cornstarch on skin to prevent, and dry up, topical skin infections, like diaper rash? I know from experience that it works. Why can't the infection use the starch as a food source?

Can I be allergic to my own sweat? The past couple summers I've developed itchy rashes on my neck, forehead and inside my elbows. I saw a dermatologist in January when, naturally, I had no symptoms. He actually implied that I was imagining this rash (!) and offered no remedies. Recently a biologist friend suggested I might be allergic to my own perspiration, and I'm increasingly feeling that the evidence supports this. Can this be true?

I am about to turn 40, and the last couple years have not been great for me physically, so if this is middle-age, then I don't want it. In my case, the problem is dry skin, which has plagued me more or less all my life, but looking back, it seems like in former decades it was a relatively minor annoyance compared to the scourge it has become. Sometimes I go into an itching frenzy. Not good at night when I'm trying to sleep or when out in public.

Our itchy baby can only sleep if we swaddle her securely. By securely, I mean we have to wrap her quite snuggly, safety-pinning the stretchy cloth to prevent her from wriggling out and scratching herself awake. It took some trial-and-error to find a wrapping method that could contain her. Can snug swaddling harm babies orthopedically?

Is poison ivy less poisonous when it dies for the winter? I'm rather allergic and have gotten rashy several times over the spring and summer, either from preparing the garden or the dogs running through the ground cover and then rubbing up against me. I know where the ivy is, but need to know how to get it out of there without killing the desirable ground cover that it is growing in.
