In my office at work, I have no FM radio reception, no cellular phone reception, and only have https
internet access. Are there any internet music streaming sites using SSL? Or any podcasts I could download at home and bring to work? [more inside]

I listen a lot to Radio Paradise for a nice general music radio station but since I stopped driving I've been missing the trashy top 20 radio. Of course I could stream one of those stations on the computer, but listening to that many adds would seem silly. Pandora is fine, but it tends to be too limited in its scope. So does anyone know a good, human curated radio station that mixes in all of the new pop music?

Is one of the streaming services really great for a radio-like experience, with randomized and/or curated playlists? I don't want to have to build playlists myself -- it takes forever, and I can just do that in iTunes if I want (and in fact I have done that for years, but am sick of it). I would like to be able to pick a genre, mood or event, and have it be able to play songs for many hours. The ones I've tried so far have fallen short. [more inside]

It's fund drive time, and I have been a contributor and a host promoting fund drives for public and community radio. But a common complaint I hear from people is public radio encourages them to do their part, meaning contribute. The promise is the sooner you do, the sooner the drive will end. [more inside]

Hey all, I'm looking for some listenable eclectic international music radio stations. I'm a rock/indie lover, but get bored listening exclusively to it like on BBC Radio 6 or Radio Paradise. Paris Radio FIP is great, but I'd like to vary things a bit and sometimes am not in the mood for jazz hour. [more inside]

Looking for Radio Humbug: On every major holiday, but most especially Christmas, I'm annoyed that the radio broadcasts I habitually listen to--mostly NPR, BBC world service--are overtaken by special holiday content, which is usually religious and sappy. Can anyone recommend a radio station to listen to on internet stream on these holidays (talk, not music) that will present news, interviews, documentaries and the like? I could do podcasts, but I much prefer live streaming. Necessarily in English. Most any sort of content or geographic focus would be of interest, so long as there's no shouting, minimal or no religion, no political extremism.

Fist incidence of 'crazed killer, internet rantings?' I'm looking for the earliest incident where someone killed another person or persons (using a plane, car, gun, bomb, toothpick, poison, etc) and the media coverage quickly or immediately went to the web for the background, and found it. I have a CentOS server with a directory of some MP3s. What is the easiest way to have a radio stream setup so I can listen to them at work or on my phone? I looked at Shoutcast and it seems perfect, but I can't seem to figure out how to get it to randomly pick something from a directory of music instead of connecting to Winamp on a host machine.

Can I listen to NBA basketball games on internet streaming audio? Specifically the Portland Trailblazers, but other might feel differently. Their radio station is 95.5 The Game
but when I clicked during a game the other day, there was a talk show on.

Why are there so many French internet radio stations?
On iTunes, they seem vastly disproportionate. Is there a legal reason, a historical reason, or something else?

I've just changed mobile 'phone provider to T-Mobile's Web'n'walk Max, which allows me 'unlimited' web access (up to 3Gb/month which is their 'fair use' limit). So, this means I can now listen to Radio 4 online (at 20.7Kbps live, I'm informed by my PDA) - but how much radio can I listen to before I exceed my limit (bearing in mind I'll be wanting to do a bit of surfing etc. too)?

Short and simple. I'm interested in finding out if there are any internet radio stations which broadcast full albums.
Alternatively any free/pay services which allow you to listen online to full albums rather than just individual tracks. I'm not at this point interested in buying music just listening to it.
Please bear in mind I am in the UK and services such as Rhapsody etc. aren't available here AFAIK.

I'm looking for streaming Japanese-language talk or news radio. Specifically, I'm looking for a live feed rather than short clips (the latter of which I seem to find tons of), and preferably low-bandwidth audio-only rather than video. I don't read Japanese, so searching is difficult.
