Every year I look forward to BBC Radio's Christmas music specials (especially choral concerts), including the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols on Christmas Eve. In 2005 the Beeb broadcast a concert called 'Carols by Candlelight' by the Chapter House Choir that was delightful. And so every year, I scan the schedules of the various BBC Radio services to see what I can find, but I invariably miss something or other (I'm in the US, btw). For all you radioheads in the UK: is there an all-in-one place to go that has a complete list of that kind of thing?
Help me identify a children's fantasy story! It was a radio drama (possibly based on a book, possibly airing on the BBC) that I listened to when I was young. Details inside... [more inside]
I'm finding the BBC Radio 1980s dramatization of The Lord of the Rings to be a very satisfying soundtrack for exercising... but I'm already almost halfway through it... [more inside]
Where is the best place to download or stream bbc radio 1 essential mixes well after the air date? [more inside]
Looking for Radio Humbug: On every major holiday, but most especially Christmas, I'm annoyed that the radio broadcasts I habitually listen to--mostly NPR, BBC world service--are overtaken by special holiday content, which is usually religious and sappy. Can anyone recommend a radio station to listen to on internet stream on these holidays (talk, not music) that will present news, interviews, documentaries and the like? I could do podcasts, but I much prefer live streaming. Necessarily in English. Most any sort of content or geographic focus would be of interest, so long as there's no shouting, minimal or no religion, no political extremism.
How to identify the music used to close today's 15 Nov. program The Strand on BBC World Service. I've searched the BBC Website(s) but failed to find it.
I'm looking for the logos of every international, national and regional/local BBC Radio station in sizes more than 600px x 600px
Is there an archive of the BBC's excellent Radio 4 Choice podcast? They only have the last episode posted and there are some episodes from the past I'd like to hear. [more inside]

Is there any way in the world that I can listen to BBC Radio 4's audio drama series Number 10? [more inside]
A while back I had a job as a radio archivist and I dubbed a few episodes of a very trippy British serial that I believe originally aired on the BBC during the late '70s or early '80s. It involved some sort of quest for knowledge, had Buddhist (or at least eastern spiritual) overtones and was often accompanied by psychedelic background music. Anyone have any idea what the name of this series might have been?
As an English ex-pat, my fiancée really misses the BBC's Radio 4. We both do. Can anyone speak from experience about the best Internet/wifi radio for both listening live and the BBC's 'listen again' feature? [more inside]
Where can I find a podcast (not streaming audio) of the BBC World Service program Outlook? [more inside]
I spend most of my work day listening to interview and essay type radio shows on the internet. My favorite, of course, is This American Life. I also love Fresh Air . I've checked out Radio 4 a little, and sometimes I listen to Democracy Now and even more rarely Air America. Keeping in mind what I already like, what else would you recommend I listen to? The BBC streams football online, BUT only to the UK. How do I trick it to think I am in the UK when I am overseas?
Are there BBC Radio transcripts online? I heard something that i'd like to see verified.
