We have a relatively cheap oven model with a wire rack that slides into the oven against the porcelain walls of the oven; no bearings or anything. It's always stuck a little bit, pulling it in and out — but since we did a self-clean cycle last week, there seems to be even more friction. Is there a food-safe high-temperature grease or other lubricant that I can use to make the rack slide better?
Hi all, I've fallen in love with this bamboo clothes rack from Argos but unfortunately they only ship within the UK. Do any of you happen to know a smiliar or same item from a different store, one that would ship to Berlin in Germany where I currently reside? Many thanks, hive!
Here are photos of my current dish drain. It's about 13"x18"x10"H when unfolded (ready to use) and ~16"x18"x3"H when folded. I think I got it in the late 90s at, like, a grocery store or something. It was cheap ($5-10). Since it got worn/rusty, I've tried to find a new one, but none of the places I've looked have anything like this anymore. [more inside]
I have a pannier and bicycle, and I need to mount the one to the other. The bike is a ~1985 Schwinn and the pannier is a Blackburn EX. I’ve tried a Blackburn MTN rack, but my heels bump the bag. Ideally it’d be about 4-6 inches further back and still level along the top (currently tilts slightly back). Do racks come in different sizes I need to know? Are there some bike/bag combos that don’t work? Do people shorten their cranks instead of moving the bags? Is there some crucial measurement I should learn?
I'm planning on building a Hexayurt and driving it to Burningman and back. I'm told that Hexayurts fold up into a package that's approximately 8x4x1' large. Unfortunately, my car is a 2002 Toyota Camry LE without a roof rack (and without rain gutters, so roof racks are challenging/expensive to install). What's my cheapest option that's still safe for a 1300 mile car trip? [more inside]
I want to get a rack for surfboards for my 2012 Subaru Impreza Sedan (not the hatchback). I will need some aftermarket racks and there is no Subaru install for this model. I've seen offers from Rhino, Thule and a few others. Which one do you recommend? How hard is it to install?

I have a stack of AV equipment next to our TV. I want a simple set of wooden shelves to tidy things up, but short narrow bookshelves don't seem to exist. Short OR narrow, but not short AND narrow. Anyone have any ideas of how I could simply do it myself? [more inside]
At my place of employment, I have been charged with physically securing our two servers. The decision has been made to bolt them to the concrete floor in a cage. I don't know how to shop for a server rack. We have an old one that they're on now, but it's an open rack, without sides or locks. I need one that's more of a cage, to keep people without the key out. It'll have to fit at least 8U worth of servers, and also accommodate a midsized tower somehow, and be 1000mm deep minimum. How do I shop for this? I can't find any information on whether any of the racks I'm looking at are bolt downable.
I just bought a roof rack for my bike. Without some kind of alarm in place, I will drive into the garage with bike on the roof. I will destroy the bike and damage my house and I want to avoid this. I need some kind of directed sensor such that when the bike breaks the line of the sensor a light flashes to remind me not to drive into the garage with the bike on my roof. Any ideas along these lines or better?
I have a specific question about transporting my Rans Tailwind Recumbent Road Bike in my trailer using fork traps that I attached to the trailer myself. My question is whether or not I need to take the seat off the bike before I transport it at highway speeds. See inside for more details and pictures. [more inside]
This is my bike (flickr set); it's a late 1980s Peugeot Cassis (I'm pretty sure.) I live in Victoria, Australia. Is it possible to purchase a rear pannier rack for this bike, I have looked at standard bike shop racks and haven't found one that fits. Where would I purchase one of these racks (I'm in Melbourne until Thursday) and how much am I looking at paying? [more inside]

I gave my '07 Honda Civic to a mechanic who said it needed a replacement of the steering rack and/or pump, which he did. Problem: aftermarket XM radio was working perfectly before it went in, antenna had intermittent short which prevented radio from getting signal at least 50% of the time when I got it back. I have a 2005 Ford e150 van. I am going camping tomorrow and it would be nice to throw the clothes and sleeping bags on a roof rack. Yet the Yakima and Thule options seem terribly overpriced, and given the vehicle it should be obvious that fashion is not an issue. Is there a functional rack that I can get from a bricks-and-mortar retailer that costs <$300 and doesn't involve suction cups? [more inside]
I have a bicycle trunk rack that is Trek Interchange compatible. My trunk bag is not. I'd like an easier way to take the bag off the bike when parking it in public. Is there really no such thing as an Interchange adaptor for non-Interchange bags? [more inside]
Battery shelf manufacturers: I need links to manufacturers of steel battery shelves for large DC UPS applications, for use with AGM VRLA lead acid batteries such as 2V 600aH to 1200aH and 6V 220aH to 600aH+ sizes. Batteries will be Rolls or a competitor. The shelves should knock down into something that can be flat packed and reassembled at an installation site. Features for earthquake bracing and shock mounting are also useful. Where do the US RBOCs buy their shelves?
