I'm looking for a track that has a sort of "track day", or race what you brung type deal... not any track though, it must be a circuit track, not drag... and also, the closer to Manchester CT, the better... i've looked around, and found Lime Rock Park, but they have been quite rude and have not answered any of my email's... i also contacted a track in Stafford, and they said "we only let real race cars on our track" so figuring this out is proving to be quite difficult... all i want in reality is a place to take my car, and wind around some turns, to see just what it, and me are made of.

I've noticed many hispanic youths in my neighborhood making use of their cellphone's "walkie talkie" feature. I have seen only a handful blacks doing this, and no whites or asians. Also, I've noticed several whites using their cellphones in a "hands free" fashion, employing some sort of earpiece/microphone. However, I have seen no blacks, asians, or hispanics doing this. So my question - are these real trends, or false conclusions based on my limited experience?

I went to the Arlington Racetrack in Illinois last year (my first time at the races). One of the items on sale at the gift shop was a black and white photo of a horse racing along a long length of track. It measured something like 6" x 72" (yes, about 6 feet wide) and was priced at about $250. I assume it was made of photos seamlessly "stitched" together. Where can I find a similar photo (framed or not) online? I'm not concerned about the horse or the location it was shot, I just think it would look great hanging in my living room

What are some persuasive points to make to help someone realize that stereotyping isn't a desirable way of categorizing people? Say that the person's main argument when you say, "Hey, that's stereotyping!" is, "I'm not saying I hate them; I'm not saying they're bad; I'm just saying they talk loud/don't tip well/act just like that skit on SNL." How also to explain the sometimes subtle difference between saying: "People from this region/culture talk like this," (accents) and "People from this region/culture act like this," (possible stereotype)? I already immediately say that I don't like to hear sweeping comments about particular races/cultures/religions/genders in order to get the person to stop saying that stuff around me (and potentially around others)... but the chance to make a comment that could be thought-provoking is very tempting.

My girlfriend (white, both parents English) and I (dark-skinned, both parents from Sri Lanka) met an American couple in a bar (here in Australia). They seemed very adventurous, educated and intelligent but became very VERY serious when we said we planned to travel in the Southern States of the U.S., suggesting that - after dark at least - the whole area is still (and I quote) "maybe a bad idea for a mixed-race couple." Are they right?

AdoptionFilter: I have noticed that Asian babies adopted are almost always female. (by surburban white parents, which compromise the vast, vast majority of potential adopters). While the racial mismatch doesnt bother me tremendously (there is a vast disparity between the adopting parents - mostly white, and the kids to be adopted - mostly of color), it does seem sorta troubling that at least with Asian children, it seems to be entirely female. I've tried to research this and havent come up with any stats - does anyone know how much of this is attributable to ratio of male:female babies, and how much if it is some sort of ethnic gender-prefernce (i.e., 'i've always wanted a little China doll?'). And does this follow with other ethnicities?

What is a firm but uninsulting answer to the myriad of possible questions and comments about one's "racial appearance"? Examples of such questions are:
"What race are you?"
"Are you mixed?" [Are you black, indian, mulatto, etc.]
"Your skin is so pretty! You have an ivory complexion! Do you have caucasian in you?"

Thanks for any help you can give me, because I've been searching for a good answer to this stuff for years!
