I have eight months until a big book release, and I figure my main job until then is to promote my blog and my book. So how do I go about that in an effective way? I know *some* of what I'm supposed to do (write lots of good blog content, guest post a lot, get backlinks), but even for those parts, I imagine there are better and worse ways of going about it (asking people to link to certain articles doesn't seem to work very well, and I haven't had much luck with guest posting offers lately.) Any good books or articles on this subject? Or suggestions of your own?

I'd like to find high resolution versions of publicity photos from certain reality shows: Buck Wild, Duck Dynasty, Call of the Wildman, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and Moonshiners. Obviously, the press is given access to these images so I wonder if any of those high resolution images are available to the public.

I am an illustrator and have been recently contacted by the magazine Uppercase, who offered me an opportunity to be part of the third edition of Work/Life, an annual book dedicated to the work of 100 international illustrators.
While surely nicely curated and distributed, Uppercase Work/Life asks their applicants to pay a CDN $500 fee to have a two-page spread.
Is it worth it?

We are planning a publicity stunt that is likely to get national media attention. The catch is that we need the cooperation of a charitable organization with a sense of humor. We've had no luck finding one. Any ideas where to look?

A few months ago I started getting press and now I'm what you'd call perhaps a "public figure," though a minor one. The problem is that I "read the internet" and come across comments about me being ugly, unattractive, etc. I'm letting them get to me...

Our non-profit arts organization has just earned the support (in the form of a
very big grant) from an internationally renowned foundation. We've got a good system of press releases that we send out to local and regional contacts, but we're idealistically looking to see some national artistic attention as the result of getting this grant. Where/who should we attempt contact to really get noticed?

I produce a YouTube show about media literacy/criticism. Right now we post weekly, on a schedule which is driving me insane. Does frequency of publishing new content matter (whether it's for a blog, a podcast, a comic, etc) so long as you publish regularly? Could I do it every other week or monthly without losing people's attention? And what do you suggest doing to help make up for less-frequent publishing?

I've seen many movie review sites that host, or link to, images from the movies. Assuming the site didn't get permission, is this legal? What if you're selling ads on the review site, or charging users a premium to view it? Or is there some way of definitively identifying a photo as a publicity still, meant to be used by anyone who isn't diluting the brand? Obviously, this extends beyond movies, to books and other products.
