Hi all, I recently started the
F-Factor diet For the first two weeks carbs are limited to fiber crackers, all bran, 0% greek yogurt, and one piece of fruit a day. No beans or starchy vegetables. You are allowed a small amount of fat (like a few slices of avocado, or a few peanuts, or a couple teaspoons of oil. Other than that you can have a lot of lean protein (fish, turkey, egg whites, skinless chicken, pork, light cheese, lean beef with fat removed etc.) and vegetables. Unfortunately I'm going away to a cabin this weekend and everyone else will be drinking like fishes and eating crazy fattening food.
What are some things that I can make with lean protein and vegetables (and maybe the small amount of fat I'm allowed) that would be tolerable if not delicious. I will have access to a very basic kitchen (nothing fancy but at least a refrigerator, oven and stove).
Thanks!

Does anybody use whey protein powder to cook anything savory, especially any dinner dishes? I realize this is a longshot question, but web searches haven't turned up much of anything.
And again, I'm looking specifically for any successful recipes that use the whey protein powder, rather than fresh whey. Thank you, o hypothetical kitchen wizards!

I commute by bike, and ever since my commute tripled in distance, I've been coming home tired and hungry and and wanting to EAT ALL THE PROTEIN. Can you recommend some tasty, high protein vegetarian or pescetarian meals which I can either prepare in advance or throw together in the 20 or so minutes before severe post-workout hungry-crankiness sets in?

Like every other person on earth, I'm intrigued by the idea of a low-carb diet for weight loss and generally feeling
better on a daily basis. I've read lots of almost miraculous success stories, and since I need to lose ~20-25lbs and my
standard low-calorie, fruits/vegetables/whole grains thing doesn't seem to work any more, of course I'm thinking I should
at least try it. The problem is, most of those success stories include extreme euphoria over the opportunity to consume
all that yummy fat and protein, but I mostly
really dislike fat and and don't particularly love protein either.

I saw a nutritionist and she recommended for lunch and dinner I make sure that 50% of my meal be vegetables, 25% lean protein, and 25% a starch of whole grains with only a minimal amount of dressing or oil for cooking. Beans are great, but count as a starch and a protein. The vegetables can really be any vegetable except potatoes (too starchy). So far I've been (1) eating salads with chicken or pork and (2) vegetable fajitas with whole wheat tortillas and beans (maybe too starchy because it counts as two starches, but I like it).
Any other ideas for these eating parameters? I need suggestions for things that I can cook at home very quickly (preparation and cooling 20 minutes or less really don't have a lot of time) and things that I can order in restaurants.
Thanks!!!!

Next month I'm going on a two-week camping trip in New Zealand with
Flying Kiwi, a tour company I've used before and enjoyed. My main gripe last time was the food: carbs, carbs, carbs all day long! Cereal and toast for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, and pasta and rice-based dinners most nights along with some beer and cider.
I'm looking for easy protein-based alternatives that I can stash in my stuff and turn to whenever I need a break from the carb onslaught.

I'm eating a certain number of calories per day and using My Fitness Pal to track my food. If, for example, I have most of my day's menu planned but have a certain number of calories, fat grams, protein grams, and carb grams I need to eat to meet my daily targets, is there a website that will tell me which foods fit those criteria? Like a calorie database in reverse, I guess. Does that exist?

I need protein. I have just started (re-started) weight training and I have very limited funds, but I cannot afford lean steak or chicken or fish. I have some protein powder and can afford chicken thigh meat, canned tuna and any amount of pulses. Which is best? I'm trying to build lean muscle.

I'm looking for a satisfying* low-carb protein bar which is also soy-free. Any recommendations? Any bars you hate? I am leaning toward the Biogenesis bars.
Also, suggestions for high-protein, low carb items that are quick to fix/pack/take along with me when I need to be out and about are welcome!
*I don't expect utter deliciousness, but I'd like something that isn't cardboardy.
