An elderly relative is struggling with a sudden onset of enlarged prostate symptoms. We found him a good urologist. Currently he is wearing a catheter and taking medicine to shrink the prostate. He is terrified of possible surgery and other complications in this future. My relative does not use the internet. He's intelligent and a great reader. To know the facts helps him feel more in control. I'm seeking a book on prostate health and treatment. [more inside]

Hello! I'm a 33 year old male (NYC-based until 8/1 when I will be in Atlanta) with a very frustrating issue that I'm hoping those of you in the field might be able to help me diagnose. I've been to several urologists who have not helped me very much (the list of things that have been done is included below). If nothing else, I would love a recommendation for a urologist in either city that wont just dismiss me out of hand and not take this seriously. Throwaway email for additional details: firstname.lastname@example.org [more inside]

My urologist suggested I read an article regarding prostate cancer in the February 2012 issue of Esquire (the one with Bill Clinton on the cover). I just went to three stores and of course the February issues are gone. Can you help me find it online. My "google fu" isn't great! I would like to read it online before my a.m. appointment. It doesn't have to be free. Please hope me! No special snowflake stuff inside!

I am good friends with my ex husband. He learned a couple of months ago that his PSA was over 20. He was also having a serious problem with his leg at the time (he had a femoral by pass surgery). That surgery went well and he has recovered from it..but during that time the high PSA results were put on the back burner until he could get through the surgery. [more inside]

I have had a serious long term problem with my prostate, with predictable results not only on my sex life but on almost every aspect of my life. I have gone to a variety of specialists, none of whom seem to have an answer. I have had several courses of antibiotics and been put on Flomax, which has helped, but still leaves a lot of room for improvement. A naturopath was able to help quite a bit, with various natural remedies, but while the pain has gone away, I have little sexual feeling and sometimes have great difficulty achieving orgasm. I have searched the internet without much success and tried to learn as much as possible about various problems with the prostate, such as chronic prostatitis, but have not found anything very useful. Any information and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Most men develop an enlarged prostate as they age. I was wondering what effect an enlarged prostate would have on pleasure derived from the massaging of the prostate. Does an enlarged prostate make anal sex more pleasurable, less pleasurable or does it have no effect on pleasure?
